Go to bed, Elvis. That was step one and, thanks to Beatrix’s genius tricks, they are already on step six. Come on Lupin, Goldie is definitely picking up more trash.
Puckmosis: Looks like things are falling into place for tomorrow’s race.
Emma-Peelia: They sure are. I’m going to head over to the Cosmos Garden to pick roses pretty soon.
Puckmosis: Is Diana going with you?
Emma: No, Beatrixia is foal sitting her. Maybe next year she’ll be big enough.
Puckmosis: Well, I’d like to check in on Thomios and see how he’s doing with preparations.
At the Royal Kitchen
*Puckmosis: How’s the food prep going, Thomios?
Thomios: Just fine. I’ve got plenty of honey courtesy of Thalia and her bees, the catnip is ready for the julep, and I’ve got bacon ready for the Hot Browns*
Puckmosis: Sounds great. Looks like we’re all set for the Bowler Derby tomorrow.

No, I’m serious. He thinks he is a furry, pint-sized person. He was abandoned on the streets of St. Louis and picked up by the no-kill shelter we found him in. Unfortunately, his early development was woefully lacking.
Hamilton doesn’t meow – ever. He doesn’t know how to use his claws; he gets them hooked into all kinds of things, then tries to walk on and finds himself dragging a towel, bath mat, or even my pillow with him. He looks at me and seems to say, “why is this happening?” And, he isn’t afraid of much; even likes being in water, and will eat anything…cat food, dog food, salsa, potatoes, the list is endless (of course, he does not get those things, but his nose and curiosity make him want to taste everything.)
Besides needing to be totally involved in everything I do, he just doesn’t act like any cat we have ever had.
Fifteen days short of the seventeenth anniversary of her adoption, I had to have my sweet girl kitty Silvia euthanized. She was nineteen and a half, and her kidneys finally gave up. My lap is empty. I miss her dreadfully.
Beatrix the Wonder Kitten. I may have mentioned this before so skip it if you’ve seen it. There’s a character who appears in stories about a group that works together. The character is a new hire who’s enthusiastic and smarter than most of the existing group members. We’ve been calling them the Beatrix.
I must say I’m shocked. Not that Bea’s got some brains, that she included someone other than Lupin in the rest of her clean up list.
Although, maybe she isn’t such a genius. As long as Lupin and Goldie stick to clean up Bea’s a genius. But if they devolve into fighting, she made a huge mistake. The apartment could end up messier than before the clean up started.
In reality, this only works with what I call “competitive eating”. Kirby once ate dairy-free cheese substitute because he saw the new kitten doing it. Boy, was he ever mad at her.
I was rereading the arc where Burt and Baba were introduced. It may also have been the first time we saw the Robber Mice Gang. He mentioned that Baba had given birth to over 90 kittens.

Well, better hop like a bunny, soon as guests blow
Cleaning rags ready, now go cats go
And don’t you stop ’til all shines anew
Well you can do anything but
Stop before the cleanup is through
Well, all knocked things down, better replace
And slather Top Job all over the place
Do anything that you want to do
But uh-uh honey, follow Bea’s list of clues
You got those wretched cleaning blues
You can do anything but lay off before you’re through
Now let’s go, cats (oh, dust the wall)
You can blame a mouse, but you won’t get far
Wish the mess away on the brightest star
Do anything that you want to do
But uh-uh baby, lay off the breakin’ news
Don’t you stop singin’ those down’n dirty blues
You can do anything but hang up your cleaning shoes
Rock it
