I do not really know who “G” … Ben… is. But, my vote is going to be for him (Ben), because he looks the most “normal” of the guys, and he looks very much like a typical college aged guy that Luann could meet at Pitts CC or at Moony U when she transfers. Quill is too much of a passing fad for my tastes. Gunther has grown rather obnoxious as of late. The others… eh. So, I vote for BEN!

I always thought she should marry Bernice (they’ve pretty much already spent their lives together and Bern practically lived in Luann’s bedroom through their teen years), but that isn’t going to happen in a family comic strip.

So I pick Quill, simply to prove that sometimes the nice, handsome guy DOES pick the less than glamorous girl because he sees more in her.

The academic year is half over, and so far we have met (in passing) just 2 of her classmates. If she is to start up a romance with someone new whom she meets at PCC, she had better get more nearly involved with the other students than we have seen thus far. Let’s just hope that Mr. H’s first name isn’t “Preparation”.

H. (Am I the only one who ships Luann/Tiffany?)Aside from that, it generally doesn’t pan out to marry one’s high school sweetheart. I would hope she meets someone new, later in life.

Oh, between marriages, she has a regrettable, occasionally abusive relationship with Aaron Hill, who has escalating problems with alcohol. Gunther, by the way, comes to understand that he is gay. Tiffany becomes a low-grade porn actress/model and develops problems with drugs. She and Aaron connect in rehab and, alternately, give each other support and drag each other down. Bernice dies in a car crash while engaged to Zane. Delta becomes US Secretary of State and fends off advances from Elwood, who is in the House of Representatives. Happily married Brad and Toni die together in a fire. TJ, while under indictment for insurance fraud, commits suicide. Crystal and Kute, surprisingly develop a strong relationship and live quite happily in an quiet manner. Oops! I think I’ve confused Luann with Funky Winkerbean.

I pick ‘H’, both because she still has the option of meeting new guys at PItts, and because she might surprise everyone and become so dedicated to an acting career that she doesn’t get married at all…

Quill Or Aaron Hill? It is hard to choose. They both have some good points as well as some so-so points. However, Quill has stood by her and in his own way fought for her against Tiffany, and even when she would pull some of her standard crazy stuff Quill was always still there letting her know he really does want to be in a relationship with her (through thick and thin so to speak, I don’t remember Aaron fighting as hard for her as Quill has). So I guess, in the grander scheme of things, maybe it will be Quill in the end.

Quill!!! A nice guy who gets Luann’s weirdness. Plus he is very good-looking!

Sticking with Quill would mean the strip is dead — all over. No future romantic drama would be possible for our main character. .We need a new boy (or two) to arise at the Community College, attractive ones — not the jerks from art class. .Also Ben should come back. He is, after all, Bern’s brother, and he really took to Luann as soon as he met her (to the jealous annoyance of Bernice.) Some useful drama there..Quill could go on to acting (or music) fame and become a star and thus slide out of Luann’s world. Jonah could be touched on in the acting field as well (he could discover Tiff). Would Elwood have a role in Hollywood? .Quill’s rise to stardom would annoy Tiff no end, since she hungers for such fame far more than Quill does.

Quill has his good points. If the comic is to end in a few months, we can leave it at that. Terminal.. THE END.But if there is to be any further drama for main character of the strip, Luann will have to have further romantic crises and/or adventures.

It can’t just be an unvarying relationship with Quill.

H. We haven’t met him (or her) yet.

B: Quill. I don’t think it should happen right after college, though. I see them as going their separate ways for a while as Quill matures as an actor (or possibly a director or playwright), while Luann figures out what she wants to do for a career. They’ll always mean to keep in touch, maybe even manage it for a few years, but lose track of one another and them have a “meet-cute” at some point before deciding that they really do belong together.

H. It’s very rare for anyone to marry someone they first met in high school. (Not unheard of… just rare.) Much more likely Luann finishes college, finds a career, and then finds someone who shares her interests.
