OMG, someone last night said Gunther’s mom would enter stage left with milk and cookie and lo and behold she did. But that is not the most important development: they obviously have feelings for each other. We could analyze this until the cows come home, but clearly the way the strip i drawn they are very attracted to each other, they may actually feel a need for each other. I have never seen Tiffany this dreamy/warm before, and Gunther. well contrary to sentiments discussed above, i think he is not hesitant about this one bit. Opposites attract!!

Kudos to Greg; he’s finally letting all of his “child” characters grow up, and so far they’re all much the better for it. Tiff in particular has been a one-joke character for years; it’s nice to see her starting to deepen a bit.

as I have said for at least 2 years..Tiff is not dumb dumb. she is lazy, just watch how she would ace a chemistry week if she saw it was about creating cosmetics, or a history week if it is history of culture impact of Egyptian cosmetics

Today’s is going to be one of my all time favorite ‘Luann’ strips. Gunther’s gentle kindness and Tiffany’s gratitude….nice!

Implausible, I can understand your sentiments in comparing today to when Quill and Gunthie had cookies and milk, but my take is thus:With Tiffany….. I see his gladness at the interruption as one where he was nervous about the uncharted territory of him being assertive enough to try to kiss Tiffany. His mother’s interruption was a relief because he was unsure of himself.With Quill, the anger he showed towards his mother was not IMO due to your suggestion of Gunthie wanting “private time” with Quill, but instead…. his anger towards his mother was because he was trying to present himself to Quill as more “manly” or “cool” than he thinks himself to be…. and in his “cool” image he was trying to project, having Mom bring in milk and cookies crushed his attempt at “coolness”.

For Implausible’s comment back to Mordock999 (the reply button did not work on that comment):I tend to think Ox (presuming he is on the Moony Football Team) may be a bit sad if Tiffany and Gunther start to date… but Ox will likely get (or has gotten) plenty of attention from a lot of girl fans who watch him on the field. He will be ok.

7I enjoy very much seeing this side to Tiffany’s personality. She is becoming a more complete character and not just Luann’s foil. I also like how in several of the last few Tiffany arcs, she has been shown being a kind, gentle, vulnerable person. I know that many of the panels have shown the traditional “Luann’s Foil” Tiffany as well, but I am talking about this arc, the arc where she was talking about her family life in the car, when she was helping Bernice with her new look, etc.

I think they could be good for each other… after a suitable amount of drama from friends and family.

The fact that both Tiffand and Gunther were happy and relieved to see Mrs. Berger suggests that they are BOTH inexperienced. In the social sphere, Tiffany only knows how to be a tease. Now that a real relationship may be developing, she’s nervous and doesn’t know how to proceed.

Greg is being subtle here. Tiffany is hardly a dumb blond, nor is Gunther any computer whiz. Yet these roles lubricate their relationship.

Frame 3: SO NEAR YET SO FAR…

Lord, I remember a g-friend’s mother doing that about three minutes after we’d gotten our britches back on. Wonder what’s going to happen when Mr. Gray shows up and whisks Gunther’s mommy away for the evening…

This could be the healthiest relationship Tiff has ever been in.

I think I finally understand what is happening here. Both Tiffany and Gunther are slowly but surely falling in love with each other, but they can’t accept it yet. Gunther, because he thinks nothing like this could ever happen to him. Tiffany, because she knows she is falling in love with Gunther, but can’t believe it yet.

Gunther was very much attracted to Tiffany when they were in her dorm. Nothing happened, which he regretted and probably has contributed to his pent up anger. See how Gunther has brightened up with what seems are sparks flying with Tiffany. If they start a relationship, he will be elated and completely cured of his depression.

I’m sure Guther is ready for some cookies alright.

I’d love for this to take a twist and have Tiffany pregnant, just because it would be dramatic obviously and make for a great story arc. I don’t really think it will go that road though at all. It’s just a family strip after all. Most likely, I think that they maybe just flirted, possibly kissed and Gunther freaked out at Quill cause he tends to over react with change. He might also be confused about his feelings, and feel guilty for developing feelings for Tiffany so soon after Rosa (which was a big deal for him). He’s changed a lot from his trip and he’s still trying to figure out who he is I think.

In any case, this relationship will be way more exciting than Quill/Luann no matter what happens/doesn’t happen between them. At least they have fault and depth of character. I am so done with Quill, he is way too “perfect”. He has zero faults, no matter what happens he’s always has the perfect answers for Luann, Gunther, her parents, etc. I’d actually find it interesting if he cheated on Luann just to see wonder boy do something. Am I the only one who wants him to become more realistic or just leave?
