Nil is majoring in Improvised Artspeak BS. As for Jack, there’s always granny-style bowling.

Jack? Don’t SWEAT IT. Besides, You’re gonna NEED those “fat fingers” to PLUG Your ears when Bern and Your “Pal” Nil here, start discussing Every Single Depressing Aspect of Humanity.

Spherical voids is astronomy. Divergent polarities is geology. I am going to guess those are 2 other classes Nil takes aside from this art class. At least he is interested in sciences that are not engineering like Gunther is taking.

Jack, get a ball with bigger holes. Just ask and don’t grab the first one you see.

I started with duckpin bowling, the ball is small, no holes. Pins are small and you leave the deadwood on the alley. 3 step approach and 3 throws. I think it was 3. Anyway, I can’t do 4 step for regular bowling.

Hi trying not to be peeved because the comment I wrote last night never made it to the page, but perhaps I did not hit the reply tab. I will give myself the benefit of the doubt. Nil has a fine sense of dry wit, and definitely knows how to come back with meaningless empty intellectualisms, although I am not sure that Prof. Zebo, pompous that he is, really really feels he is being pompous. On the ambuiguity issue about whether what Bernice perceives who will be her date. It is probably meant to be Nil, but I still am so used to be being totally surprised I will wait. Nothing pithy can come from me this morning, I am still drinking my first coffee, I will let Nil be the wordsmith of the day (lol).

Woo-Hoo! This is getting fun! Nice interspersed dialogs! I KNEW Nil was going to unfold some hitherto unknown personality attributes, like a lotus flower…. (( PS hey Greg, if you got a moment, can you contact Pat Brady of Rose is Rose & ask him to loosen up a little? I just gave him a big supportive thumbs up for his recent strip & he censured me because I mentioned cross dressing! Ouch! ))

This is very entertaining!!!! I am looking forward to the arc continuing.

Did anyone notice how both Luann and Nil sort of look like they are both wearing a vest today? I know the light blue on Luann is actually the straps of her backpack and she is wearing a sweater, but the “look” in the drawing has it seem that both she and Nil are wearing a vest. Interesting coincidence? I think not! :)

Many people wonder if it’s the only class Luann takes….but if you think about it, if she did have other classes depicted, it may not always be with Jack and Nil…and that could possibly mean that you’d still have some who wonder “Where did Jack And Nil Go? We never get to see them…”. Or some may then say that “It’s getting too crowded, that there’s too many other characters (additional teachers, students, etc)!”.

    -

So the best way to look at it, is that we must imagine that Luann is taking other classes, ‘off panel’. Perhaps, then, too, we could imagine the rest may not be as interesting as this one (a zany subject, with an ‘outlandish’ Professor, along with seemingly ‘unlikely students’).

    -

It could be likened to "using the restroom on Star Trek. You don’t see any bathrooms…but surely we’d have to gather that they’re not “just not going”…we can just logically conclude it takes place, without having to see the facilities’ entrance on camera…

PS final word — it’d be nice to see Zebo get more 3-D as a character, like show what’s under that pompous intellectualism. Maybe he works as a volunteer at a soup kitchen for the homeless or has a poor pen pal in Haiti who he supports, I don’t know. They did this with the character Archie in ‘All In the Family’ TV comedy (1971-1979) where at first he was merely a racist, ignorant buffoon, but gradually his character deepened into a greater spectrum of colors. OK goodnight my friends… & again Bravo, Greg for today’s strip; go Nil!
