He was doing the flossing dance, wasn’t he, that’s where this joke is gonna go

I guess Les has learned the secret to getting Gunther to reveal his secrets – making a joke about his dental cleanliness.

I believe someone here mentioned that Luann may be in some sort of dress/costume made by Gunther. They COULD be right. The door slamming, was so that Les wouldn’t see what Lu was wearing. I was hoping for Luann to be dressed up as a Green Orion Slave Girl. But I wonder if Gunther still has that “sexy witch” costume Gunny made for her years ago?

THAT, was back in 2008 (Their time). Can you imagine Les getting a load of Luann dressed up like that now?

Or Gunny maybe has designed some other very sexy outfit and Luann was modelling it for him? And those “Bumps, Thuds, and Scrapes” are her frantic efforts to get out of it? If so, and if Les has seen Lu it, then Gunny’s “problems” are just beginning.

One thing for sure. If there ever IS a next time with another young woman, Gunny needs to seriously consider having all his future dates at HER place.

Well, I hope we can see what happens in there, I know that nothing that thinks Less!

Ahem, colorist? In panel 2, Les’s teeth are as slimy green as his personality is.

Well, Gunther is dressed, his dress shirt aligned and buttoned all up to the neck and hair is not mussed so it is safe to assume he was not in bed with Luann. Next step – check the bed. My bet? All you will see is butt imprints on the edge of the bed as well as that Les here is not gawking at Luann as he would if she were undressed or all mussed up. Like Gunther, she is likely looking normal herself. SO, what was all the noise??

All the bumping and scraping was Gunther righting all the overturned furniture after he and Luann had a rather torrid “love connection” for an hour or two. The whole room might just have to be repainted and the light fixture put back on the ceiling. Luann became extremely unfocused and forgot that she drove her car there. Too much pent up energy…

It’s a dance?

Something happened, that is for sure, leaving us all to speculate, and project our imaginations off. Man for bunch of old coots and farts and ladies we sure have a hot, bothered imagination. Just the kind of thing GnK will use to pull the football away at the last second. ARRRGHHHHHHH!!

Les’ll wonder where the yellow went. If he brushes his teeth with Pepsodent!

Whew! At least Gunther’s shirt is on and buttoned correctly. :D

I have a feeling that many people posting here are going to be disappointed when it turnes out that nothing sexual went on between Luann and Gunther and that there is a totally innocent explination for the noise.

I think all the Gunther-Luann shippers will be disappointed. All that noise was her trying to get out the window (which was stuck causing all the ruckus to get it open) and she will come through the front door saying she forgot her car keys.

Once again Gunther is his own worst enemy, getting outraged at Les instead of ignoring him.

“Go away, boy. You bother me.”

So, Luann has not left the building.

I suppose Gunther was not necessarily flossing his own mouth.

Still no Luann. Les is saying “Hey Luann”, like he assumes she is there, but he doesn’t actually see her. I think Gunther is telling the truth.

C’mon, if Gunther just had sex he would be a lot more relaxed than this. He is way too uptight. Definitely no sex for Gunther tonight.

Gunther should stop letting Les get under his skin. This only works for Les because he always gets a reaction. Also, Les talks about sex so much it’s pretty obvious he’s a virgin, and Gunther could find a way to point this out to him.

If Les actually thinks Gunther and Luann are getting physical, he’s being the biggest jerk on the planet. “They’re having sex! Let me make fun of them for it through the door!”

If he is making that much noise flossing, he is doing it wrong…dance or teeth

I’m all aquiver…

Flossing? REALLY Gunther? I don’t know what his hygiene habits are. But if they involve making that much noise. he’s trying WAY to hard.

If my room-mate was lurking outside my bedroom door, especially if he thought I was having sex, I would make sure to ‘explain’ it to him, forcibly, that he needs to go away, like yesterday. There would be no doubt. Creepy bastard hanging around my bedroom door is gross.

I’m going out on a limb again and predicting Luann is indeed gone. Her car is “still there” for some lame GnK excuse. A little romance event may have happened but no cigar. (Please. No political comments.)

But. The Gunther-Luann relationship is not over by a long shot. (Again. No pun intended.) There are still many, many relationship machinations left in GnK’s bag of tricks.

When Luann and some guy finally do decide to be intimate, GnK will make a bigger production out of IT than this! It will be the comic strip event of the; a) year, b) decade, c) centaury!

Dances? Gunther is doing the floss and what is Luann doing? The “mouth wash”? Naw, too kinky.

He could have said "im flossing’ as a sarcastic remark, We have to be careful though. Because don;t forget, he is not supposed to get angry or raise his voice. Otherwise he is evil and dangerous and needs counseling.

Has anyone wondered why Gunther is flossing? Does he have anything stuck between his teeth? If we are going to be kinky here lets be imaginative.

I think it’d be funny if Luann had jumped into Gunther’s bed under the sheets, and was waving sheepishly to Les while appearing to attempt to “cover up”.

It’s innocent.

Pretty much as I feared so far…. Les continuing to goad, Gunther getting riled up in traditionally ineffective ways.

Whether Luann is there or not…. whether Gunther and Luann did nothing, kissed, or copulated…. I think none of that is really going to matter or even develop much further….. it feels like most if not all of this week will simply be Les and Gunther arguing and fussing…. like usual.

Remember Luann’s reaction when she saw Gunther naked in the library, how she gasped and the look on her face? Maybe that was more than surprise! Nah, not in this strip.

I have never called it “flossing” before, but I guess that is a good description.

Well, if Les is greeting Luann, at least it sounds like all the noises and suspicious behavior aren’t because Gunther has been murdering her.

With an earlier dental hygiene reference, wasn’t Les ‘flossing’ before Tiffany came over last time?

Are Les’s teeth supposed to be that nasty color in the second frame or is it a printing mistake?

Okay. To those of you who have speculated that all the noise that’s coming from Gunny’s room was just him and Lu “rearranging furniture,” help an old COFFEE Drinker out here.

WHY would a young couple that has known each other since the 3rd grade, and who has spent the last couple of hours ever so slightly “flirting,” suddenly feel the compelling “need” to viciously and loudly rearrange furniture, in a room that with the exception of a bed and a sewing machine, is virtually DEVOID of furniture? And WHY would they feel the need to conceal that fact from the scumbag roommate?

Gunther doesn’t lie or use sarcasm. He is telling the truth today.

Yeesh, so this is what we’re going for, the implied but not corroborated possibility that these two were…ummmmm… letting nature take its course? I highly doubt it. Its Luann and Gunther after all. I think if they were actually going to do the “do”, Greg would have had a different lead up. Course, it doesn’t explain the noises. You don’t make that kind of noise looking at and posting pictures of costumes.

Bottom line: nothing happened…nothing will happen.

It sounded like their were “wrestling” in there.

I work in a dental school and never has flossing sounded like that from any patient.

Gunther was about to floss when the floss container fell behind a dresser which he had to move. Hence the noises.

I try to write short fiction in my ‘spare’ time, but since I haven’t succeeded in getting any of it published, I’m probably not creative enough to figure out what might be the cause of the scraping noises in Gunther’s room. Last we saw of the two, they were trying to send pix to someone who responded favorably to the profile Luann had created for Gunther. So maybe they were trying to set up a ‘stage’ of some sort to make the pic look like Gunther was somewhere interesting, or maybe, to avoid scaring the woman who had responded, they were pushing the bed out of the way to leave a scene of just Gunther and his Star Trek (?) PJs?

Nothing happened — Gunther’s shirt is buttoned up to the very top. Only nerds do that.

Gunther is learning, yet again, why Les has Zero Friends.

If G&K go to Shannon and the building inspector tomorrow – there’ll be a class action lawsuit.

Such a clumsy device: all the noises. Nope, my belief isn’t suspended. We will never know, just as we don’t know what happened between Tiffany and Gunther (but there was more chemistry there). G&K like leaving unfinished business.

“Leave me alone Les!” ? Hmmm, curiosity, can’t wait for tomorrow…

This cartoon premise is: no one gets anything, no way, no how, no time, not ever, not here.

Are seeing Gunther escaping from the “Friend Zone”!!??!!

If Gunther was a regular 19 year old male with a woman in his room he wouldn’t feel any need to lie about what he was doing. He would just say, My girlfriend is here, we want privacy. No big deal and certainly nothing to lie about.

Anyone else notice Gunther has no pants on?

Well, I guess you could call it (Bam!) flossing, if you wanted to!

“The floss dance” or “flossing” is a popular dance that started in 2017. All the noise from Gunter’s room… is from him trying to learn how to do it. Swing his arms about and hitting things. Nothing else going on. (I personal don’t like the dance)
