Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Fellow cat-servants, I have an announcement from the Scientific Community.
Scientists have found that cats do register the sound of their names and understand that the word applies to them. They just sometimes choose to ignore you.
I know, this news shocks you all. And none of us cat “owners” could have told scientists this about 10 minutes after having our first cat move into our homes….
I think the match was abridged; drat the constraints of the newspaper formats!!
On the home front, we have a fox wandering around the property this morning and YumYum has worked herself into a frenzy, all puffed up and running from window to window, growling and snarling and letting out the occasional screech. Needless to say, I am NOT letting her out, no matter how she is demanding it.
Georgia did a really good job with the format constraints of Newspapers. An artist has a vision and the economics of the forum has its reality, and neither the twain shall meet.
Perhaps, when Georgia has her next BCN book published, she can expand on the match scene.
P.S., I am really enjoying new content that Georgia is working into her Strips. I wake up, go to work, make coffee and check Breaking Cat News before anything else.
Off-Topic Post. Conan has been hospitalized for an infection of some sort. We brought him in yesterday as he wasn’t feeling well; he was running a fever. The at-home treatment they gave us hasn’t helped, so rather than waste time waiting for things to get better, we took him back in this morning for IV antibiotics and fluids. They always take good care of him, but as always, we worry about our 4-footed kids, don’t we?
I’m impressed that an artist/humorist who creates a watercolor strip about a cat news team is so well versed in the nuance of professional wrestling/lucha libre. Truly a renaissance mind.
Way to go, Elvis, jump in & disqualify yourself (& Lupin in the process) for interference! Maybe Elvis should have gone first – I presume Lupin would be slightly more inclined to play by the rules & wait for the tag…
This last week had me remembering a match in the early ‘80s where Dusty Rhoades was trash talking about another wrestler, can’t remember his name but he wore a black hat and black vest. Rhoades was accusing the other wrestler of engaging him in an altercation in a tavern and ruining his “two-dollar suit”. The minute Rhoades said it he began to crack up and by the time the trash talking was over both wrestlers were laughing. Apparently the script called for a two hundred dollar suit.
There needs to be a rematch, if just to see what Georgia comes up with for the costumes. Although, these costumes are pretty spectacular. Love the Robber Mice and their comments.
As much as I liked this, it would have been amazing in the old free form we comic format. Imagine another dozen or more frames of this. I tried reading it twice, the second time back to front, but it wasn’t the same. Oh, well, I’ll take what there is.
I’ve a question for the Orb please. In panel six – whose ears are bouncing along the bottom? I know it’s not Elvis (wrong color). Lupin maybe? Or the Red Dot?
