After being locked in ALL winter during a very COLD winter with a lot of little kids; this is what parents wish they had in the basement or garage… A place to send ’em to ware ’em out.
When I was much younger, I had an adrenaline junkie manager who would make problems happen so he could solve them. It was exhausting working for such a dysfunctional personality. I wonder how exciting it was for him when the Regional Manager came in on a Monday morning and fired his butt. I heard that the then unemployed manager lost his apartment because he could not get a new job fast enough.
The gurus are adrenaline junkies that were wise enough to understand at that point of their search that the ultimate kick holds less perspective than the penultimate one.
It looks like “American Yoga” . Yoga is only for one purpose to destroy ones personality and here they turn it into a “workout” some classes even involve alcohol. It’s like the christian faith as well ….they have turned it into a social club.
The true Guru will put a person thru as many paces as needed (in the persons mind) to achieve what they always had all along but did not realize it. Heaven is within!
Seems to me that the right place for that bear and all his friends would be at the bottom of the hill, for all the folks that don’t make all the steps right.
I hear that the adrenaline makes the meat taste extra delicious!

Also a reasonable parallel description for the daily rat race. That last one probably is not a ‘golden parachute’.

Don’t miss the chute or you will miss Nirvana.

Looks like at IV all the candidates are relieved of their backpacks, so at least some enlightenment is achieved after all.

Wisdom comes from making mistakes and you’re still alive so let’s go with dumb luck!

If those gurus all claim to have attained enlightenment already, why are they still using Roman numerals?

The bridge to #I reminds me of this place:

The bridge is at aiguille du midi (Val-d’Isère, France) which you cross to ski the glaciers.

The Guru at Step Six just tells them that, if they haven’t figured it out yet, they need to pay him $10,000 for permission to repeat the course.
