So now we know Baba’s incredibly complex coffee order. Small change: it’s not “Alice and the girls,” it’s “the Robber Mice gang.” In case readers don’t remember who Alice and the gang are . . .
CANCEL THE PITY PARTY! is one of my favorite lines. Elvis will now be too busy being offended to be sad, at least for a while. But Puck’s supportive little paw on Elvis’ shoulder is just too cute!
Any coffee drinkers out there willing to try Baba Mouse’s brew and report back to us on the taste? Catnip can go in tea, so I’m sure it’s safe to drink in coffee…
Beatrix has obviously impressed Baba Mouse and gained her respect. That’s a remarkable accomplishment already for such a youngster. It reminds me of a moment in a Dodgers’ game last season that made me think “if you’re a rookie pitcher coming off the mound, and you look up and see Sandy Koufax standing behind the dugout applauding, you must figure you did ok.”
Is there a way to find the originals of these on bcn.com? Is there a list? I see the links to some arcs, but not in general like this or the moonlight dance party.
Poor doggie. Don’t look so sad. We know that Baba has visited the book store, or at least the book store woman’s house. Tommy has lived in her green house, so Beatrix won’t be too far away. We also know she’s an escape artist, so she’ll find a way to bring you tea.
Attention Mega Orb: SHAUNNMUNN NEEDS YOUR PURRS, PRAYERS, ORB BUMPS AND BOOPS! ♥ I only just found out yesterday evening that she is suffering a severe tooth infection. She writes: “I bit too hard on some food & a tooth split & became infected. Tried to keep it down with peroxide, but it became a full-blown impaction. On Keflex now, the infection is starting to abate.” I posted this late yesterday (well late for me!) so, as promised, I’m posting this message again so everyone knows. ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((all)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Thanks orbsters! ❤️❤️❤️
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya tomorrow! I can’t believe no one has commented yet about Baba swiping the mic from Tommy in the 2nd panel. Puck’s paw on Elvis’ shoulder and Elvis’ face are just so precious. Puck is so empathetic, he’s done this with The Woman “what is this rug coming to” in There’s been a hairball, and again with The Boy (Toddler) in the laundry room when Pengo had his encounter with a dog. (but not this one!) He who will be named tomorrow would never do such a thing. There was another time Puck was like that but all i remember is him saying something like, i hear you sister. anyone know which one that was?? please! it’s going to bother me all day, now.
Because yesterday, for the first time in almost a year, I walked 3.1 miles, finishing in slightly under 65 minutes. :-)
Will see if I can get the finish-line photo with The Woman (I braced myself on her chair for a good portion of it to protect my back) posted to my IG and will share with all of you.
I love Baba’s look in the last panel—from the rear, her ears are the only ‘cat’ thing visible; otherwise she looks like some middle/eastern European granny.
I love Baba’s firm but loving reproof to Elvis. As I stated above, we had an 8:25AM running of the Yum Yum this morning. She caromed about the house like a little mad thing, miraculously knocking nothing over, before coming to rest behind my head on the couch and beating me enthusiastically with her tail.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am on Chapter 4 of: Belle & Giblet – The Case Of The Missing Ring. Bea’s leaving to a new home made me think of what I wrote of how Belle came to the family in my story. I am on Chapter 4 and I am going to a Writers Workshop at our local library. Part of my problem is I keep revising what I have previously written and the other problem is getting the time to sit and write. Here is an excerpt from my story:
…Belle was not going to be stopped in her exploration of her new home and she was getting a little braver each day. It had taken just one cat-week to work up the nerve to really explore the big new house. Kitten’s excel at not being afraid!
Belle remembered the before time, before she was with her new family. She was in a small metal cage in loud and very frightening place. It was terrible, with all the barking and meowing sounds of other animals. She had been in that cage for many cat-weeks, since she was taken from her mother. She did not know why she was sent to the metal cage, only that it was scary and she missed her Mom a terribly. On many nights, Belle would cry herself to sleep.
Various people would walk up, stop, and look at her in that metal cage. Belle tried to work up a happy face but just couldn’t, and the people would just walk away. Then one day the Woman-People and Man-People stopped and looked at her for a long time. Belle thought they had sad faces also, but when she thought they were going to walk away like everyone else, the people asked to meet her.
Belle was then put in a room with the People and they tried to get to know each other. Even though Belle was shaking and afraid, she must have done something right, because the Man-People and Woman-People brought her home. Now Belle was in a big house; much bigger than the house she and her Mom lived in. She had a warm blankie all her own, food bowls and other cats to make friends with. Belle was loved by her new People….
I need some boops for my best guy Miscreant. He’s not acting right and I don’t think he’s eating either. He is drinking and I’ve tried tuna, baby food, canned food and every other thing you can think of but he really has only ever eaten dry cat food and has always been really skinny. Now he seems like he is featherweight and he is crying for no reason and not purring for me anymore. He isn’t sleeping with me as he has done every night his whole 15 years. We are going to the vet tomorrow and I’m really worried for him. I’ve got to get him through tonight.
We were at a Drs appt today and I was looking for something to read, imagine my surprise when I found a kids coloring book….The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, By Beatrix Potter! My thoughts immediately turned to a certain poly Bookstore cat/social media expert/and awwsome climber…

Baba is GOOD! I didn’t think she’d ever properly met Elvis but here she is, delivering the emotional smack-down he needed by name.
