Part of me wants to see Ann end this week (or next, if this is a two-week arc) with a bowl of soup on her head. The rest of me doesn’t want Tiffany to do something really stupid.
You may feel happy and successful there but Ann Awful will drain those feelings from you within seconds. Ann isn’t happy unless she’s in control of everyone around her.
Feeling pretty disgusted with Tom. The man doesn’t talk with his daughter and allows his floozie to make all the decisions and handle everything pertaining to his daughter.
As suspected, we do not get to learn what Bets’ plan for Tiffany is. Instead, it is time to add another element of stress to Tiffany’s life, which will probably be something that will make Tiffany very excited to hear Bets’ plan, no matter how cockamamie it is. In the meantime, Luann is off to the side thinking, "How long will it be before this comic strip is renamed to be “Tiffany (and occasionally Luann)”.
Ox IS sweet…and it’s real evidence of Tiffany’s growth that she recognizes and acknowledges it. (Hopefully, we’ll see another step forward for Tif this week, and not another Awful setback.)
It wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t already know that Tiffany will just sit back and take whatever Ann is about to throw her way (as opposed to standing up for herself.) Though to be fair, Tiff doesn’t really have much leverage here.
This is really getting to be disgusting. I don’t even wanna ask what Greg is going to do to her next. There’s not much left.
Next week: Greg holds a contest like he did for Toni’s wedding dress. This time, the contest will be to determine which reader of the strip will come up with the most cruel vehicle of demise for poor Tiffany.
This week, I’m sure Greg is paving the way for Evil Annie to do Tiffany some psychological harm. I hope Greg doesn’t push her into the unthinkable.
Dammit, Ann…I swear, you make things worse for Tiffany now and I swear I will find a way to jump through this screen and instill the fear of God on you.
…cuz let’s be honest, seeing an angry someone appear out of nowhere as if they jumped through a portal through time and space will do that.
So when are they going to officially change the name of this strip to “Tiffany”? Or at least a title that more accurately reflects the contents of the strip?
I mean, Luann is hardly ever in it any more. She only rarely gets to be the center of attention and even then it’s only for a week or so. Then it’s back to the characters the artist actually wants to write about.
Unfortunately, Luann is the more boring character in the cast. She’s still living at home with her parents and her dog, the same as she’s been doing since the strip started. Everybody else has grown and changed except her. Other characters have had relationships, traveled abroad, moved out of the house, but Luann’s still in the same spot she was as a teenager. No wonder the artist lost interest in her years ago.
I agree with the general consensus, that it’s Ann calling for service. I think we are coming to a major part of the TIffany arc, and I think possibly Les as well, as he is also working at the Fuse. It’s up to how our fearless cartoonist wants to cast and draw this story, but pass the popcorn, this ought to be good. Sort of like the Packers and the Bears, and Tiffany is the Bears, and of course I root for the Bears, but those Packers are fierce competitors, and have Aaron Rodgers. Ah hah!!! Ann (Awful) Eiffel has no Aaron Rogers.
Just when Tiffany is about to chin up, some nosy customer interrupts her speech of gratitude and somehow, I think this customer might be someone she won’t be happy to see.
It goes to Greg’s brilliance in creating an arch nemesis that everyone recognizes her merely from her silhouette. Kudos.
This setup is a perfect storm in the making. But how will it play out??? Somehow I don’t see Tiff’s woes ending here. Even with TJ and Oxford lurking in the wings.
Scenarios: 1) A gloat over an engagement ring… or wedding ring!?!? 2) An offer to live at home. In other words a faux offer of reconciliation. This has possibilities because Greg’s not through torturing Tiff yet for her past “sins.” 3) More torment from Ann around cutting off more funding from papa; possibly around cutting off her private dorm room? This seems more likely since Tiff is in the throes of money problems? OR 4) Two “white knights” enter the lists. Ending where?
Stay tuned Luanniphiles! “Hilarity®” is about to ensue???
Earlier in the comments Mordock999 offered up this strip as an eventual outcome for Tiffany: https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2015/02/. So Mordy, do you think “Mogul Tiff” is being chunked by GnK? She goes off to Casting Couch Land to seek fame and fortune? That sure would cement the Gunther/Bets linkup. But where does that leave Les? There would be one less source of friction between him and Gun(ugh!). What happens to that dynamic then?
I believe we are going to hear about an engagement within minutes. The way things have been going this is all Tiffany needs! This will push Tiffany over the edge and force a confrontation. All her White Knights will have to spring into action and get Ann to leave. Then her entire sad story will come spilling out. Maybe then the story will turn with her making a pivotal decision about her future.
A lot of folks are wondering what has caused GnK to grind on Tiff for (seemingly) forever. Well this strip, from Tiff’s first day at Mooney Uni may provide a clue.

Has Tiffany “paid her dues” yet Greg? Or is the check still in the mail? :o(
@Mordock 999 has suggested that the character ‘Luann’ has never been “sorely tested” by an adversity that she can barely handle, and is thus kind of a boring fixture that no one can root for. I don’t know about that. I’ve not been as long term a reader of this ‘toon as many who post here, but I have gone back to read some of the older episodes that others have referenced. I can remember an arc in high school where Tiffany secretly took pix of Luann getting changed in a locker room and was going to post those pix for everyone to see. Having worked on a crisis switchboard many years ago, I can testify that this kind of thing is enough to push some kids to take their own lives. And it can do the same thing for adults, frankly, even though they are supposed to be much less emotional than teens. Suicide is still one of the more significant causes of loss of life among teens. So I would not automatically assume that someone who has dealt with the possibility of having revealing pix displayed in public has not been ’tested by adversity’.
Of course, G&K could play the “Karma” card. Ann continues to screw-up Tif’s life and at the height of her witchy-ness she is diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer and gets killed off to die alone.
