Shannon is an “armchair expert” on everything, so good to take her to help Jack. heck, she may even get something for herself!

And just when you think we’d finish 2019 without a Shannon story, BOOM! There she Is!

There’s only about two weeks left in the year. I think it’s nice to end it with an arc starring the Strip’s heroine.

Jack is gonna find Shannon adorable…the question is whether Shannon will be jealous of Jack taking Luann’s attention away from her? Or will she just command the stage and capture Jack’s attention away from Luann to her?

Bored children have no creativity and no imagination.

When i was little i didn’t have ANY devices, my entertainment was the outside, a bicycle, and my imagination.

I have the feeling jack and luann will run into Tiffany. These arcs run close together.

From insult to injury. First Greg gives Tiffany his usual shabby treatment and now comes the injury part: Shannon, a real pain.

If Shannon is Luann’s brother’s wife’s niece, what is their direct familial relationship?

I’ll bet Jack is pretty good with small children. He’ll no doubt get an earful of what Shannon thinks his niece will want—that, and the lovely sound of Shannon’s tantrums when she decides she wants everything she sees!

In the space of 2 panels and only a few seconds, Luann has both their coats on! Jack to the rescue!

Once during Summer vacation when I was about ten I made the mistake of telling my mother I was bored. She found LOTS of chores for me to do, I never made that mistake again.

So the Tiffany arc ended on Saturday and we can assume that it was exactly what it looked like – Tiffany fell off the frugality wagon and is back to using shopping as her crutch, destroying any progress she might have made.

This does it for me until after Christmas for if I wanted to see and hear undisciplined children I would go to Walmart.

Saying “mall” to Luann is like saying “squirrel!” to a dog. I think she’s even salivating a tiny bit. ;-)

I had a hunch we’d jump to a Christmas episode this week. I also thought we’d see Shannon, but with Brad and Toni. I need to polish my crystal ball.

PBS’s “Pig” got it right today.

It’s great to see Jack is still an active character. There’s still the off chance he and Luann get more involved in arcs.

As soon Luann is asked out by a guy, she goes.

Luann+ Jack + Shannon… I already love this! It’s like a gift. I will be happy if this arc lasts until Christmas.

Nothing good can come of this.

That kids a brat and needs a good kia

All these brat comments, guess they never had small or bigger kids. Anyway I see this is a way for Jack and Luann, two very normal, and in my mind very naturally meant for each other characters to be together doing a normal thing-together-squiring two children around a shopping mall during the Christmas season. To me the underlying intent is pretty obvious.. Friends become daters, become more, lovers, fight, get back, get married when and if Greg himself decides to retire. He is spending lot of time on Jack and Luann and I think I know the plan if I daresay.

I like Jack. He’s probably the first guy Luann’s age that she has gotten to know as a person without first considering his suitability as a romantic partner. So I really hope they stay friends.

MY!! … How they calm down and behave SO quickly!! :)

for those objecting to the “brat” designation: while she may not “act up” ALL the time, Greg does portray her as behaving petulantly more often than not. Whether it’s as funny as he seems to think is another matter.

For comparison of someone in the same age range, I’d refer to “Meg”, Gene’s adopted daughter, in “Arlo & Janis”.

Hmmm are we back on the Luann and Jack train again? Haha!

People, People, People.

How Many Times has Shannon shown up Just in time to interrupt if NOT prevent ANY hanky panky going on between Brad and Toni? LOTS, that what. So with THAT in mind, does ANYBODY here still think that “Little Miss Center of Attention,” is going allow any (A-HEM) “romance” going on between Jack and Luann? I mean SERIOUSLY??

If that WERE to happen, THAT would truly be a Christmas Miracle. And I’ll provide the Frankincense! ;)

My wife catches me doing this Shannon act all the time…except it’s the grown up version. Hears me groaning from the other room, comes in and finds me my underwear at the computer. “Honey if you’re cold put on clothes and if you’re bored of the internet get up and take out the trash!”

Boredom terminated.

People still go to the mall? Ours only has one toy store and it is Chinese knock off junk. The rest is just Anchor stores and perfume and age cream chasers.

Shannon is definitely a big PITA….

A few years back my Niece got her 7 boys (ages 5-13, all adopted) smart phones for Christmas. I thought “That’s an awfully expensive present for little kids”, but when I casually asked her later how much that had cost she said she had gotten them at Kroger on sale — $10 a piece. (No plans except for the oldest.) Cheaper than an iPod and just as handy.

Greg – it’s time to give jack some real eyes – not those dots. He is deeper than the vapid critter who posed for her art class. Eye think he deserves eyes at least as “developed” as Luann’s !

The “dis” goes to Luann: She wants to be an elementary school teacher; Shannon is her OJT, if nothing else.

Learn to handle kids or start training for a different profession.

And another big “dis” for Jonah – but we can probably count on his not appearing in this arc.

I thought Shannon loved to read. She once admired Luann for working in the library. Shannon should at least have a Kindle. It does wonders for me!

With so much going on, so much to see in the world and so much “stuff” to keep them occupied, NO kid in the U.S.A. has the right to utter the words, “I’m bored”. It’s their own fault.

Jack could have called Kaylie (sp) assuming he has been dating her. But he called Luann, perhaps because she is a proven friend and helpful person…. by comparison.

Shannon’s the kind of kid that’ll make Luann want to have a dog. As much as I enjoy this strip, I HATE to see Shannon come back. Comics are supposed to be funny. Nuthin’ funny about Shannon.

ya know my niece i don’t think has a kindle as my brother and his wife & us buy her actual books and she loves them as well as we are big readers in my family, the only one that isn’t a big reader is my dad but than he does read magazines but never books.
