Elvis: “She does kill every plant she touches.” And the ones she doesn’t touch, you, sir, and your compatriots, either eat and hork, or push off the table or shelf.
So, the Woman did it, with the cat grass, in the Living Room? I think we need a BCN version of Clue! No murder though, just things that are mysteries to cats …
Oh my, the Woman smoked off another parcel of grass…err, I mean she need replenish her pot…no, no, I meant to say she needs to go and talk to Mary Jane, her grass source at the bookshop.
Wow, this Irish morning strong coffee is.
Where was I? Oh yeah, the Woman need to replenish her stash so she can come back home and get baked…no, baking some cookies…and you know what goes well with cookies? Hash!
So now we know where the cat grass came from. It looks to me like Bea knew all along where the cat grass came from and how it was replaced, and played along for the fun of it.
Off topic, we are off to our family doctor this afternoon to see if she can give us an explanation as to why Paul has such increasing and painful difficulty swallowing and why he is dropping weight. Let’s hope she has a better explanation than his oncologist.
I too have the dark destructive power of killing house plants. Except for one succulent, which murdered all of it’s pot-mates and is now probably plotting to take over the house.
She’s quick, then, because the past instances of it have basically been blink and there’s a new thing of cat grass. In my experience, it usually takes a tad longer than that, longer for most cats to take notice if they’re nearby.
When I was in school, I had a selection of beautiful plants, including a huge spider plant with absolutely no brown spots on it. When I took a break from school and went home to mom’s for a few months, the plants got placed on the front porch in the spring and thrived in the fresh air and sunshine. Then I came home from work one day and was devastated to find them all cut off down to the soil. The neighbor’s goat had gotten loose, jumped our fence, and climbed the porch steps for a tasty gourmet snack. Apparently he also deactivated my green thumb, since the incident I’ve never again had any luck with plants.
There is something very fun is happening over on the Breaking Cat News Facebook page (@breakingcatnewscomic on Facebook) My publisher’s in-house animator created a truly live broadcast for us to celebrate our new book “Take It Away, Tommy!” (Out on March 31st!) It is adorable and I LOVE IT! And they are giving away five prize packs of “Lupin Leaps In”, “Take It Away, Tommy!” and a signed print! Head over there to enter!
(If you don’t do FB, I get it, and sorry! You should be able to watch the video without an account, I think! If I can figure out a way to share the video to Instagram, I will, but I’m trying to keep the giveaway part to FB so it’s easy to track and follow the entries for picking winners. It would get hectic over many different sites!)
This has me dreaming of an animated BCN! Who would you have do the voices?? (Just for fun! There are no plans for this yet, but we can dream!)
Today is World Wildlife Day. Whether this is in celebration of wildlife or those who live a wild life I leave to your discretion.
Take a walk on the wild side … or perhaps a run, depending on circumstances.
Why is it that when someone is loud, boisterous, and generally unrestrained, we say they are acting wild? Most wildlife is quiet and reasonably circumspect in behavior unless unduly provoked.

It’s certainly true that any plant in the household is doomed.
(Except, perhaps, the one with many teeth and the fancy hat.)

Goldie has to bat the container off the counter because senior cat Elvis can’t hop up anymore? Or just because she likes doing it.

The Woman’s continuing purchases of cat grass do help with the bookstore’s bottom line.

No, it’s Lupin who is the plant murderer. He usually shoves them off the table.

Also, maybe Trevor knows ‘Duke’, since they both love to talk! :)
