English biologist Thomas Henry Huxley was known as “Darwin’s Bulldog” for his advocacy of Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. Here we have Darwin’s silent partner.
When people say that masks are not required I suggest that dropping your drawers before using the toilet is not required either, but it is still a good idea.
I suppose it has to be said that when you wear a mask, you are doing so for the people around you, since you can’t be sure you are not infected but a symptomatic. You are protecting your neighbor, just as they are protecting you. When I wear a mask but see a guy who isn’t, I know he doesn’t give a dam about me.
That’s because many have made masks a political issue. They reject masks as infringement on their freedoms instead of accepting them as a health measure to protect others. It is me-ism taken to a high level of self-interest and lack of consideration for anyone but themselves. It will take many years to recover from both.
Ironic: The people protesting the barbaric murder of George Floyd could trigger a second wave of COVID-19 which would result in the horrific deaths of many innocent people. Google: Protests Set Off a Second Viral Wave
What is this almost pathological American dislike, disdain, and resistance to wearing a protective mask or following sound medical advice about? I really don’t understand this attitude by people in the United States to “Cut their nose off, to spite their face”.
1967 in Tokyo, about half the people on the street and mass transit wore masks because of air quality, and close proximity to others, protecting both sides of the masks self and others, from hazards, illness or otherwise. Our culture just hasn’t adapted well to the thought for protecting others from “us”.
1st people complain about over crowding and then nature finds a way to fix that by weeding out the weak and y’all complain about that. There’s no pleasing y’all.

Sounds like a nice epitaph…
And Death sings:
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I’m gonna get you, too
Another one bites the dust
All you are is just dust in the wind

And he can still maintain the distance while completing his work. Or, if needed, just get one with an extended handle.

Depends which country one lives in. In South Africa masks in public areas are mandatory.

Death is wearing a face mask. He’s there for the woman. The carbon dioxide build up makes her woozy, she falls and hits her head.

The anthropomorphism of Death just facilitates the passage from one state to another but when he says “I´ll be back” – he means it.

Should we really have the Freedom to be reckless if it endangers others? I don’t think so.

It can also depend on your county in your state. Our county requires masks in public.

You have the right not to wear a mask. If you’re going to be reckless, I have the right not to pay for your treatment
