And who wants to waste time reading “social media”? I have never understood what Facebook is for. I first heard of it as a system whereby you get an online page, put up a photo of yourself and a bit of blurb, and then wait for total strangers to claim to be your friends.“Who in their right mind,” I thought, “would want to do that? What’s the point?”
Apparently there are even fewer people in their right mind than I feared in my most pessimistic moments.
The July bugs have started buzzing their wings loudly here now. The lightning bugs mating dances seem over, so today will be another hot day sitting by the pool, listening to the buzz buzz buzz of the July Bug! :))
…and sending a daily hug to our own ladykat, “HUGZ!”
It looks like we are going to have to give Giblet insulin. The Vet called in a prescription to Costco and it was over $300.00. I told them that was not affordable for us, so the vet called in a different prescription, insulin Pens. They are about a third of the cost. One should last about 2.5 months, based on the dosage Giblet needs and the quantity of the drug in the Pen.
The young woman at Costco said they had to open a file for prescription, so she started asking me questions over the phone:
First name? Giblet…can you spell that? You know, like turkey and giblets…
The July Bug is so random, he’ll wait until hairball o’clock to choose a number of times to buzz his wings. Up to 67, he warns. In case you’re counting while screaming.
So, last night the kids and I went out into the middle of nowhere and we got to see Comet Neowise. It was very faint but we could all see it. We spent almost an hour just looking at it. https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/whats-up-skywatching-tips-from-nasa/
Today is … (I can hardly credit it.) Insurance Nerd Day. Oh my Cat, there are insurance nerds?! I wouldn’t give an insurance nerd the time of day, let alone a whole day. (Classic Elvis Poof, and I don’t have fur.) This cannot stand!!!
Listen, I was a nerd before there were nerds. I’m a founding member of the World Nerd Organization. How did we come to this pass? Well, I won’t stand for it. I’m turning in my pocket protector, my five 0.0001 mm mechanical pencils (in five colors), my black, red, blue and green extreme-ultra fine point pens, and resigning from the WNO. Next thing you know, they’ll be letting used car salespeople into that formerly august body.
Lupin, in the second panel, so happy and proud of his wish to be a tattletale (tattletail?)! My first thought was “JoAnn!” (my older sister JoAnn, a total brat).
I currently have a fly buzzing around my house, its not a cricket, cicada, or june bug, but it is still very very very very very very VERY, annoying. Plus this is the 3rd fly to get in this summer, in the past i’ve been up reading with the light on and the fly will be attracted to the light and fly into my room, buzzing and being annoying in general, nothing is worse.

Jules, you might want to chill around Elvis. He is on edge—after being over it and back several times.

Lupin, I admire your selfless approach to enlightening Elvis.

If Jules buzzes his wings at 3:00 AM, it will still be during the daily running-of-the cats.

So, is Jules going to select a random number of times to buzz between 1 and 67, or is he going to buzz 2,278 times ?
