My experience is that if you cook the whole artichoke both the heart and the exterior can be soft and quite tasty.

Well now. Tiffany should have tip-toed thru those tulips, artichokes, whatever.

First, Dez shows up at the DeGroots and meets Bernice and Luann. Next, she shows up at the Fuse, and meets Tiffany. Looks like Dez will be the common “thread” running thru the VAST Luanniverse for the foreseeable future.

Next Stop? The Gulag where Les asks, “Who the Heck are YOU???” ;)

A moment of self-awareness. Dez does live by platitudes but mostly they are pretty good ideas whether printed on a T-shirt or not.

Ah interesting little humorous interplay here, meaning? Hmmm. By the way I think Tiffany is the cutest and sexiest she has ever been the way she is drawn in these panels.

Tiffany has been acting strange this week and last. In the past she was very self-centered and judgemental. She wouldn’t talk to anyone who she didn’t consider a peer. Now she’s out gardening with Dez simply because Dez asked her. She’s actually listening to Dez. And is teasing instead of snarking. What has made her change from her old Trumpian self to this kinder, gentler Tiff? There was a passing reference to she feeling isolated being by herself in the McMansion but since the comment was not reinforced in later strip we have to assume that it was a throw-away line and Tiffany’s new groove is another inexplicable change by a novice writer.

can we get of the meta part of this for a moment and just enjoy the interaction between them and honestly happy Tiff appears to be? She’s starting to enjoy herself more with fewer things that involve her being the center of it all. She’s quietly growing.

Before, when Tiffany was just a foil for Luann, she was little more than a caricature. Now she is becoming a character that people care about.

Greg? Karen? That appendage really bothers me. What you need to fix is the size of the scrunchy and fuller ponytail. The scrunchy needs to be really tight hence a tiny band, then use heating iron curler to add a curly ponytail. Well. Chrissy on Three’s Company did not curl hers but her band was thinner and her ponytail thicker. Go watch a rerun and observe how you need to draw this hair style. For a side ponytail coming out of a full length hair, the area needs to be sectioned. That is why it looks more like an appendage than a ponytail.

She isn’t a “T-shirt”, Tiff, she’s a kook! Get away from her! You have better things to do than listen to this bat-crap insane young lady!!!!!!!!!!

Reminds me of a dear friend of mine. Crusty outside but if you need help her soft side shows through.

I’m really enjoying this storyline. Dez knows how to bring out the best in people. I doubt the old Tiffany would have been willing to try out something new that involved dirt. Sure, Tiffany is still a bit ditzy, but at least she tried it.

I can hardly wait to see what TJ is cooking up at Tiffany’s mansion in that fancy kitchen.

I think Dez is going to have some kind of impact on Tiff later on or so I hope. Dez is really like that mother some of them are needing

I can think of a few people with tender hearts and a thorny exterior.

What we have here is a growing up process. Tiffany has had a lot of trauma in her life and had been self centered and lonely. Maybe she is becoming aware of her issues. She needs real friends to talk to so that she doesn’t turn into an Ann Eiffel.

I wonder if this artichoke heart joke is a foreshadowing about someone. Dez is a lovely mother nature ♡. I’ve always loved the interaction between her and Tiffany, but this one about gardening is really awesome ♡♡♡.

Tiffany is being a good sport and enjoying her “nature class”. Now if everyone’s viewpoint is equally valuable, she can share her values and take Dez to the beauty parlor for a makeover. I wonder if Dez would be as willing as Tiffany has been.

We had our morning family meeting over our printout of Luann and my Uncle Hank nearly passed out due to the scandalous outfit Tif is wearing. We had to take him to urgent care but he was better by the time we got there probably because the lawnmower we drove took so long.

What the hell happened to Tiffany’s legs? She used to be hot. No longer.

Tiffany’s dress keeps getting shorter. She’s perilously close to exposing her BVDs…

Tiffany’s scrunchie and curl have drawn a lot of attention. Channeling cdcoventry here: Why is there a scrunchy and why now? In this gardening episode?

Tiffany’s helmet hairstyle is truly iconic; a defining characteristic. I agree with those commenters that it is oddly drawn/presented. It looks like Professor Dumbledore pulling a memory out of his head in the Harry Potter movie.

I wish I could conjure up the long lost and lamented TeaFanny and ask his/her take on the new Tiffany. Tiffany-prime?

I think Tiffany’s hairdo represents her changing and growing in many ways as she stumbles forward in life instead of staying static.
