I think Goldie ought to have her own column where she expounds on all of the mysteries she’s cracking. :)

I instantly went back to a year ago today and was not disappointed. One of the sweetest strips of the entire arc, maybe even of the year.

I spy Natasha leaning against Lupin’s neck, and Lupin seems quite happy to be in Goldie’s presence. Have they become frenemies? Enquiring minds want to know!

Goldie toe beans! And Natasha hitching a ride on a smiling Lupin. I’m so glad he finally lost that grouchy face.

Many news stations have investigative reporters. Goldie would fill that slot very nicely.

That ‘Murder She Wrote’ lady was bad news. Wherever she went, murder followed!

Yes, she writes books and solves mysteries, but the woman is deadly to be around! Everywhere she goes, someone is murdered! It’s astonishing that there’s anyone left alive in Cabot Cove!

I have said before, I would love to meet Angela Lansbury, but I don’t want Jessica Fletcher to even be in the same state!

As someone who has been in and around the publishing biz, novelists with good careers have anything but time.

Didn’t they send Jessica to New York for a while, as a teacher or something, so she would have fresh mysteries to solve?

I have a mystery!

I sit in bed to read and write in here BCN and other strips. I bring my computer into bed and unpack it from its carry case. One of my kitties came along and snatched a candy out of the side pocket. She lifted it up and began to play with it. At one time she flung the candy with a toss of her head so that it would go up about two feet and would land back at her feet. Then she would bat at it some more. The next time she tried to toss it up in the air… something went wrong. The candy went flying off the bed!

The mystery – am I ever going to find that bloody candy before the ants do!?!? ;)

If Goldie follows that path, they will all be doomed.

That woman also left bodies wherever she went.

Watching the old ‘Miss Marples’ I can see why the Agatha Christie estate turned down the idea of an American version, TBH. Miss Marple never investigated the crime. She investigated the people and she did it in ways that they never knew she was involved in the investigation. Murder, she wrote always has Jessica right at the front. (When the Christie estate turned them down, the American tv company simply changed the format to make it Murder, She wrote.)

Murder, She Wrote! Where Cabot Cove is the murder capital of the world! :D

This comic is so sweet! I’m neutral over goldie becoming a reporter, her character is so interesting!

She would have had her own cooking show, but it would have been pretty short-lived. She had nothing but thyme.

TBH, I think she’s more the Agatha Raisin or Frankie Drake type.

Mom loved that show. She was a big AL fan.

Oh, I used to LOVE watching reruns of Murder, She Wrote! It’s quite good.

I mean, Goldie could easily do both at once.

Hmmmm, this makes me think we might be getting an investigative reporter. Should be interesting. This could run nicely with a story line where the robber mice try to steal Christmas items and Goldie thwarts them.

Theres an lot of mystery solvers who can solve mysteries and have day jobs. I mean Superman is an reporter and an superhero to boot. You can do it Goldie!

Yeah, I guess solving mysteries still leaves you with plenty of free time to do other things too.

Also the BCN pictures at the auction all pulled in good bids. Elvis’s picture started out slow, but almost ended up with the highest bid of the 4 at $550, he was beaten out a bit by Lupin’s which finished at $580. Puck’s went for $432 and Beatrix’s $398.

Nobody had better crime when Goldie’s around.

Everyone who thinks TV reporting is an exciting job has not noticed how the junior reporter is sent out to stand in front of a closed public building at 5:00 a.m. to provide “background for a story”.

That tears it!If Goldie is going the Jessica Fletcher route, she isn’t coming anywhere near me.

I can see Goldie banging out her story on an old manual typewriter – a rickety fan blowing in the background over a soundtrack of soulful sax.

Goldie would make a great reporter.

And Jessica Fletcher drank gallons of coffee.

Have you ever heard of investigative reporting?

Does that mean that Puck had better not do crime stuff?
