A lot of contemporary art is truly BS.

It’s a very popular genre.

True art has a truly elevated purpose, which is beyond the reach of commoners and peasants. It is to add to the asset class of the super-rich. I bid $3m for the ‘vertical red BS’ on the far left.

I can appreciate that too.

Sorry, it isn’t abstract. I would categorize it as Pop Art. (There is a level on which all art – including dance, music, photography, etc. is an abstraction… Most of my students didn’t understand that. Most of them didn’t know what the word abstract means.)

We all got pretty sick of “confrontational” art. “In your face” art is one thing ; “slap in the face” art is quite another.
