Just think. This time last year Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott were duking it out for the title of worst person in Florida, and now they’re only competing for the title of the distant #2 spot.

Can you even imagine what a “required” survey from a college in Texas would contain??

Who do you think you are kidding, Ron DeSantis?

“We do not want [our universities] as basically hotbeds for stale ideology,” says the Guvnor.

The law ‘requires the state’s colleges and universities to conduct an annual survey examining how well “competing ideas and perspectives are presented”’.

It sounds rather like ensuring that schools “teach the controversy” over evolution.

This gem comes from what I naturally assumed was a spoof site, but it may actually be sincere: “We need you help. The Florida house of representatives voted to give special protection to teachers that teach the controversy about evolution, but failed to protect those who want to explore geocentrism.”

You’re using and “if…then” fallacy. Using MSNBC as the source doubles that fallacy. They are stating an editorial opinion, not related to fact. How in the earth could they be positive that those 63k Aussies would be dead if they lived in FL? They can’t.

OAKY, EVERYBODY, PLEASE REMEMBER: There are millions and millions of hard-working Dems/Indeps in both Florida and Texas. I’m one of ‘em. In FL, deathsantis only won by 34,000 votes, and the difference between the republican and Dem/Ind vote in Texas was 5%. Granted, the reps still control everything and are doing their damndest to see which can be stupidest, BUT millions of us are working to “kill” them at the polls next year. Of course, they’re doing an EXCELLENT job of shooting themselves in the foot, the arm, the chest. . .

I’m only here to see #Cult45 leave whiny comments about being forced to read Doonesbury, as if his politics were something new (I still have my original pulps from the 70s).

On a Florida note – at one time the state’s politics were truly bi-partisan, the 60s through the early 80s saw many great things for the state. The current sickness infesting our politics is a relatively recent Right Wing invention; they’re not interested in good governing as they are in getting filthy rich off of tearing it all down. They are, bluntly… fascists.

If Texas is so bad how come many people from Massachusetts, California, Utah, and other states are moving there? I have six colleagues from those states who jumped at a chance to move there when the company offered them the chance. These are graduates of UMass, MIT, USC, CalTech…

t’s still better than the “reasons not to get vaccinated” pamphlet. I was reared in the South. Only now am I understanding why the governments there spent so much money commemorating battlefield losses. Get vaccinated; celebrate victory.

I just heard a very interesting statement: the United States has never lost a DECLARED war. Think about it. This is a Constitutional truth. If you know how the Constitution works, then you know why that statement is correct.

Texas is a battleground state, very important. First of all, the population of New York and California is shrinking. Secondly, the population of Texas is still growing, and the new population tends to vote Democrat.

Have never wanted to ever go near Florida. However, lately YouTube’s Chit Show has changed my mind. Most wealthy Floridians are dumber, fatter, and hilariously committed to anger and stupidity to the point of absolute hilarity. I want to go sit across from that Miami boat ramp and watch it with Alfred. And Fred the Crock. Funniest thing ever on TV!
