Ooh, the excitement of the Bonus Food! My two just got treats as a reward for catching a roach – or at least detaining it until my can of pet-safe Raid and I could swoop in – and I got to remember why Diesel has his treats thrown for him. He grabs. And not gently. Ouch. (Raven, on the other hand, is super gentle and can stand on his hind legs to carefully take treats from my fingers.)
Can’t help but wonder if any cat here will repeat what Elvis said after the boys tricked the Woman into giving them a second breakfast… after Lupin knocked her phone into the sink…
The Girl will not only give Mickey kibble if not carefully monitored, she’s also been known to sample the merchandise herself. She apparently likes it. I’m not brave enough to try it for myself. Maverick and Ember would probably also be beneficiaries if they didn’t spend most of her waking hours under our bed.
Thank you for all the prayers, wishes, and comments yesterday for Carmela, everything went well. She’s back out there today. And boy, do they feed them well, biscuits and gravy, eggs and sausage for breakfast, a big sandwich for lunch, and she brought home two BBQ plates for dinner last night. She works for CenterPoint Energy and the guys she worked with yesterday were from Arkansas.
I saw a video of kids being interviewed about their pets. One little girl told about the day their golden retriever convinced her dad that no one had fed her. “It was the best day of her life!”
Could you please keep my husband and his extended family in prayer? His Mom passed away this morning, after a long battle with dementia, and he’s her sole beneficiary, so he is dealing with all the arrangements.
Uh oh… with kibble spills = TROUBLE!! At least when you have very food motivated pets. Cali is not, so I usually reward her with playtime after training. Sunny, on the other hand, oh my golly gosh. I swear she gains pounds just by thinking about food. An incident involved her eating a pot brownie at a cousin’s house. Yikes…
We have 6 indoor cats. They have dry food out all the time. They eat when they want to. None are overweight as they get plenty of exercise chasing each other around and cuddling up to me. They do get treats and know when treat time is – nor do they adjust for the change of seasons or daylight savings time. Not once have they woken me up to get food nor treats.
Even back when I had one cat, I always did that – why make them insecure about their only food source? They have all always given my love and affection and support, why would I take away the one thing they need most.

Rocks and wafls are fine, but the came to an end
Look at it now, kibble on the floor
I could eat now, and forevermore
I lose control!
There is so much joy in my soul!
Just one taste and I forget everything
One more taste and I just wanna sing! Oh-oh!
…….
Mamma Meow, here I go again
My, my, how can I resist it?
Mamma Meow, goes to show again,
My, my, I can’t wait to taste it!
Yes, I’ve been keepin’ it real,
Waiting for my next meal,
My, my, I’m-a gonna fill my cup,
