Love how Wiley is equating grown @ss adults who have the right to use their own judgement on where and how they live as well as what risks they’re willing to take with children who do not have those rights. Since he’s using the word “mandates” in the arc, the analogy is pretty blatant. The arc would be virtually unchanged if it were about a slave and slave owners.
There’s a contradiction in Danae’s declaration. If Danae has a “zero tolerance zone”, shielding her from “mandates”, why did she even go to school, since that is mandated also?
“Danae, where’s your homework?”“Oh… was it mandated?”“Yes…. if you don’t have it or don’t want to hand it in, that’s okay. You’ll get an F and fail this class. Actions have consequences.”
Maybe, just maybe if our Supreme ruler and his oh so preposterous sidekick hadn’t so vehemently declared that they would never trust anything coming from Trump’s doings, none of this would be happening and everything would be settled. But he is threatening Americans with losing their livelihoods with his orders to take said vaccine which he trashed last year. What a phony. (BTW, the wife and I received said vaccine back in May and are doing fine. Couldn’t care less what the rest of you are doing. After all, we do live in a free country, supposedly. Or have we been unknowingly transported to Russia.)
Danae speaks for an entire entitled generation who are responsible for nothing (Not My Fault) and expect the manna from Heaven to fall directly into their mouths. Well, if they believed in a Heaven from which it could fall.
It never ceases to amaze me that those same people who are anti-vaccine mandates and are screaming " Free Choice! " and " My body, my choice! " are the very same people vociferous in demanding the states impose mandates on women’s ability to obtain an abortion, and deny them the right of free choice when it comes to their bodies.
I hate mandates like having to stop for red lights and school busses, driving on the proper side of the road, wearing a seat belt, driving the speed limit, paying income tax, wearing clothes in public, having to go to church on Sunday, not killing people or coveting their wife or cow or waiting in line for anything.
Then there are the mandates I impose upon myself, like being nice to people, opening doors for people, helping people carry loads, not coughing or sneezing in people’s faces, chewing with my mouth closed, bathing daily so I don’t stink …
If you believe that the law is the least that you can do, then you are above it. Life is more fun when you can exceed expectations.
Expectations and requirements are not negated just because someone wants to play word games. Not for for anyone. Get the grades you earn and make the money you earn by doing what you are required to do or take the consequences whether you accept them or not. For those of us who are free, we can start a camp fire in our living rooms to cook marshmallows and drink all the beer we want.
“Couldn’t care less what the rest of you are doing. After all, we do live in a free country, supposedly.”
Gosh darn it, if I want to get drunk and drive, I’m free to do so.If I want to drive a hundred miles an hour in the city, I’m free to do so.If I want to sell methanol as pure grain, I’m free to do so.If I want to smoke anywhere I please, I’m free to do so.If I want to shoot anyone who makes me angry, I’m free to do so.If I want to send my unvaccinated children to school, I’m free to do so.If I don’t want to serve in the military to defend the country, or…If I don’t want to work in my community to make it better, I’m free to do so.If I don’t want to pay taxes to fund roads, etc., I’m free to do so.If I want to be allowed to travel anywhere in the world with whatever symptoms or disease I have or could spread, you know – like ebola – I’m free to do so.
A very small percent of fully-vaccinated people get a serious case of Covid-19. That has been understood from the beginning with reports that the effectiveness was in the 90 percental range and not 100%. Still, it effectively keeps more that 9 out of 10 fully vaccinated people out of hospital or the grave even if they are exposed. But remember, a tiny percentage of a great number of people is still a large number of people.

It has been said the spin of Earth is slowing. Wonder if it’s because of all the brain power wasted in futile battles against reality?

Can you see Danae knockin’ out this one?
