So nice of the Woman to take the kids out to play. And nice of the Man to get things ready for when they came back inside. I love how the Woman has the Girl riding on her back.
So The Woman went out to play with the children in the snow and the brisk sub-zero fresh air, while The Man self-sacrificingly forwent these healthy activities, and instead endured the stifling fug indoors while slaving away to produce the cocoa and popcorn.
Popcorn and cocoa – all set for a family movie night. Might I recommend Clifford The Big Red Dog. I watched that last night and while it is modernised over the Schoolastic books of my youth, it is a great film.
So it turns out it was the Man with the heart mug and the Woman with the chicken mug. Kind of makes sense now since the chicken mug is the most whimsical and also the largest. Just realized the man stayed inside and made popcorn and cocoa for everyone else, which is so sweet.
Not sure if you will be able to see this if you’re not on Reddit, but on the soapmaking subreddit someone recently posted a pic of a bowl of buttered popcorn they had casted out of melt and pour soap.
The chicken mug … not this one, but a chicken mug … was, at one time, a thing, as a (probably unauthorized) tribute to a lady who lived along the south/westbound route to the University of Rhode Island. Details in the link, but she would dress her chickens up according to the season and such. However, she passed a number of years ago and I don’t believe the chickens are there anymore.
When Bob Hope was invited to speak at the URI commencement, she dressed them up as Hope and Crosby. Bob Hope saw it and had his driver stop so he could meet her.
I miss cocoa. One of the sous chef tasks my mom gave me was stirring the cocoa. She liked to make it from scratch using Dutch cocoa powder. Other tasks included creaming butter and sugar and stirring pudding while it thickened. When I grew up it finally hit me that she gave me tasks she wanted to skip. She was subversive. She knew my dad didn’t want boys cooking.
Pucky looks like he made the cozy cozy for the People while they were out playing in the snow. Maybe sledding or making snowmen? Don’t look cold enough to have had a snowball fight or making snow angels. But maybe they oughta try making sugar on snow. Or snow cream.

Looks like we have whipped cream on 2 mugs and mini marshmallows on the kid’s mugs. It is a maximum cozy scene.

Cocoa time! Yes!
I’m back on solids, so I can have popcorn also. I wonder what lemon or lime pepper blend would taste like on popcorn?

It’s funny to me how the marshmallows in the red mug look like eggs next to the chicken mug.

Now, I consider M&P sort of cheating (I make cold process soap), but it can be an interesting hobby unto itself.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Trevor-Hotep: Hi, guys. Anyone up for some freshly harvested popcorn?
Thomios: Sure. Like some cat-friendly hot cocoa to go with it?
Trevor-Hotep: Sounds great. Nothing like a cozy evening at the palace.
Elvis-Anum: Let’s top it off with a scroll reading. I have a whole collection of stories here.
Beatrixia: And maybe we could sing a few songs as well.
Puckmosis: Now we will sing the popcorn song:
Here we are on a cold winter’s night (for Egypt, anyway)
With mugs of chocolate, we’ll do it right,
Now we’ll make plenty of popcorn!
In our toasty outfits,
In tiny boxes we sit,
And we’ll have plenty of popcorn!
It’s very well known,
Chocolate goes quite well with scones
And with family and friends,
May the love and joy never end
With chocolate, snacks, and popcorn!

I wonder what a cat would think of chicken broth warmed to blood heat and topped with whipped cream.

Did anyone else notice that Georgia reddened the cheeks of the woman and the kids? The man’s face is a contrast.
