Even in the golden years (very few in fact) when men were men and the old west was wild, most places that served alcohol required you to check your gun as you came in. Alcohol is a disinhibitor. Appropriate use of weapons depends on some intact inhibitions.

Zero$0.99 uses more BS sources than most.

    https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-daily-wire/

Even ones from the People’s Republic of China! The Turd Reich is using Chinese media sources now?

    https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/global-times-china/

But the Turd Reich will use any BS they can to try to make you believe their nonsense. It’s more of Goebbels detailed instructions on how to use propaganda that has been helping fascists for almost 100 years. The Big Lie is all they’ve got. And they’re dumb enough to think we won’t fact check and media bias check the crappola they post all the time. What pogues.

I hear they’re looking to make a minimum age to buy guns. 21 seems to be the magic number. All I ask is that they bump the draft age to the same. No conscripting men and women who aren’t old enough to buy guns or beer.

Robbery, theft, murder are all illegal. All can carry stiff penalty. The tools of the crime are only that, tools. The real problem is a lack of respect of life and no government can fix that.

It’s true, mostly. “Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.” Guns, modern ones especially that were unimaginable to the Framers of the Constitution, just make it a whole heck of a lot easier for people to kill people. Lots and lots and lots of people. More guns = more safer, right?

The way I’m understanding this, according to the Republican Party, the nra and folks on this thread the best way to be safe in this great country when we leave our house every day, we should dress in full tactical gear with a military “style” rifle slung over our shoulder and a pistol on each hip dart into the store grab a gallon of milk and run to the car and hope like hell you didn’t accidentally step on someone’s foot! Is this a society that would survive. I saw a shirt last night that said “Canada same freedoms as America without the violence”. Embarrassing!

Some promising news yesterday out of the big house with the round roof in DC. It appears that some bipartisan support is behind a compromise plan to do something sensible about gun violence. Of course, so far it’s only “an agreement in principle”, and the devil’s always in the details (which are yet to be worked out), but this is by far the brightest glimmer of hope we’ve had in decades.

I really think that, if protesters found out who in Congress is voting against reasonable gun control and painted this on their signs, it might be useful: “[NAME of CONGRESSPERSON] How much do we have to pay you to get you to vote for gun safety?” I don’t know if it would have any effect but it would be interesting.

I understand the Senate is working on a bill containing red flag laws. I find this disturbing because it opens a Pandora’s box of abuse. If this becomes federal law, you will liberals all over the country reporting their neighbors, not because of a threat of any kind , but just as a method to disarm the neighbor. And the crap about making an evaluation and decision within two weeks is a joke. When has the justice system ever acted in timely manner.

I would hope the SCOTUS would strike red flag laws as unconstitutional .

I always find funny the reaction of Americans when I tell them that in Europe the highest number of guns can be found in Germany and France. Well regulated. And mostly hunting guns. For some reason none of those countries get school/work/street shootings every week. As well around 46% of all 857 million guns in civilian hands around the world belonged to people living in the United States in 2017, a survey has found.

Strange thought on this theme: Do active shooter drills in schools lead to school shootings?

Simple research approach: Get all the shooters for the mass shooters. LOTS of data since America averages more than one mass shooting per day. Group them by the target. My prediction is that the school shooters will have more personal experience with active-shooter drills compared to the shooters from other places. Some of the surviving school shooters may even admit that the drills helped their massacre planning.

Yeah, correlation is not causation, but sometimes it makes you wonder.

Oh yeah. One more thing. Even if they fortify every school to Lying Ted’s satisfaction, the shooters will not run out of soft targets. As long as the wannabe violent lunatics of America can get the suitable weapons, they will find opportunities to shoot lots of people.
