Bernice is confusing inspiration with manipulation.

Never cared for hard shell tacos, they always cracked and left me a lapfull of lettuce and beans. Soft shells, pretty good.

Bernice, next time you want a taco switch tactics and tell Luann you want a cheeseburger, knowing her, she will glance at the taco truck and say “Nah, I want a taco”. Mission accomplished.

Bernice is liking way too much the fact to be Nill’s muse. It’s a good thing and I’m sure this will help her learn how to be in a relationship♡. It also appears that her friendship with Luann has come back to being more healthy and sincere, with her seeing Luann as an equal, not as someone who desperately needs her help with everything and is potentially a liar/traitor who is wanting to backstabb her at the first possibility. I would like to see them returning to be really BFF, but it’s likely to be just a pause and she’ll go back to thinking badly about Luann at the first problem.

Since the taco truck is near by, Bernice can get her taco/s first and then they go get Luann her burger after.

It HAS to be better than this one.

So…being a muse means you can do (or try to do) Jedi mind tricks? I didn’t know that. I want to be a muse.

This is friendly banter between the main named character and her BFF main character on romance, what else? They do get into other adventures (Tara’s near-death experience with her felon cousin comes to mind for example) but the main and continuing conversation between them is romance and life events situated. It’s funny and meant to be, but it shows the romantic hilarity they both have had since the beginning. I’m of the opinion that Nil and Bernice will continue to be an item, they are both weird and strangely smart enough to be natural for each other, and I also think it’s interesting the strip is drawn with their buddy, in this case Jack and Nil. Does this mean double-dating and more is in the future? Who knows? This strip is infamous for its misdirection plays, but I don’t agree with those who, as per tiresome usual, complain arcs are boring. They must be reading a different strip IMHO. One more comment: Luann is drawn more shapely I think. She is a very pretty blonde and she is increasingly )to my eye anyway) drawn that way

The only inspiration I get from either of these characters is the inspiration to stop reading the strip. That’s it.

I had originally believed that Nil was sincere with his muse comments but watching Bernice so fixated on them I wonder whether he was just easing her out of a relationship with which she was (for some reason) uncomfortable. It would be like being turned down by a potential romantic partner who said he or she was “flattered” and then excitedly running to your best friend to tell her “Mike was flattered! My interest in him was flattering!”

When o when will Bernice know what a muse is??

Okay, finally something I can laugh at.

Being a muse seems to be having a calming effect on Bernice. Normally she would be going off on Luann with a lot of shouting and big wide eyes. Today she looks reserved. Amazing.

The purpose of a muse is to inspire. You can’t use it for mind control, Berniece. Also, a muse serves a very specific purpose and is usually a one to one relationship, not something you can use universally to your own benefit.

Go to Del Taco… they (oddly) have both.

Glad Luann finally gave Puddles the ball. With the Taco truck right there, I’d have gone for that, but to each their own, which they both forgot this week.
