But where will they be debuting these costumes? Don’t even pretend that they’re attending any parties, and neither of them have jobs that might have a Costume Day. So they’re just showing off for each other.
The “Jumble” puzzlers are having other guest cartoonists in this week. “Garfield” might be Greg’s version of having a guest (Jim Davis) in “Luann”. I think there are still “Garfield” stuffed toys available.
Nice to see Luann and Bernice are still able to have moment where they are very funny and playful with each other. It’s almost like a Halloween’s miracle.
More than half the commetnts here are annoyed people. Me I am annoyed at the non-stop ’can’t-ever-just-let-the-comic-just-be’ comments. it was cute. A little lame maybe, but non-toxic, except for the poison pens. So many of you can’t enjoy silliness. I feel sad for you.
Now that’s cute. Reminds me of some of our more obscure costumes over the years. Party theme was Shakespeare; Spouse and I went as King Leer (note spelling) and Havoc, the dog of war. Party theme was Edgar Allen Poe; we went as the Cask of Amontillado and the pallid bust of Pallas. Party theme was Harry Potter: we went as Filch and the Fat Lady demanding the password for Griffendore dorm entrance. Party theme was The Count Calls Home His Family; we went as lawyers, bloodsuckers to the bloodsuckers (we won best costume couple). Good times…
Usually women in this age group use halloween as an excuse to wear a skimpy “sexy” version of a costume. For instance this year I saw about half a dozen playboy bunnies, ranging from well done traditional to outright lingerie onesies to one who was very full figured. Plus a couple of boy versions.

Bad puns? Using a character from another comic strip? Did I accidentally click on Pearls Before Swine?

No, No, ladies.
Bernice? You are a “load bearing beam,” holding up the EASIEST HALLOWEEN COSTUMES EVER sign.
And Luann? You are a plaintiff who’s about to be sued by Jim Davis for swiping his intellectual property. ;-)

Pun costumes! I like it. Endless possibilities. Love bad puns!

Pointless hilariously dialog? What happened to the annoying exchange?
eromlig about 2 years ago
Sure, Jim Davis is easy. If she’d held up Mickey, the next panel would have had a lawyer at the door.

These are exactly the kinds of jokes I would expect from the other Luan . . . Luan Loud, that is.

I don’t know… is it funny when they both had to hide what they were carrying? It’s not like any of the readers could actually guess it, then. =/

Panel 1: Is Bernice dressed like Tara? Panel 2: I hope G&K got permission from Jim Davis for that…
