This proves the old saying, “Bigger toys for bigger boys.” Dad started off with a simple wind up Mother Goose, then progressed to radio controlled, and then finally building his own railroad empire. Kind of like a metaphor of life. Happy holidays everyone.
Dad will likely play with the Spirograph hubby and I got this year. We need to play Cards Against Humanity and Pandemic. I like the latter because it’s collaborative, not competitive. It’s the players versus pathogens. If you don’t pick the right roles to play in the game, you can’t win. I’m always the Medic. Wonder why…
Merry Christmas everyone. Before the grandsons wake up, I can still run the train through the canyons and tunnels created by the mountain of presents under the tree.
My DAD, wonderful adult, wonderful provider, loving husband, but he never had a second childhood, because he never outgrew his first. I miss him so much, he taught me how to love, how to be a husband and father.
We have a train set that consists of “O” scale, “HO” scale and “N” scale locomotives all circling the tree at the same time. All of them are the Santa Fe War Bonnet paint job with silver passenger cars trailing. It looks really neat when all three are going. It does not, however leave a lot of room for presents….
Some of these strips are like scenes right out of “Saving Mr. Banks”. John is the childlike, fun-loving, warmhearted Walt Disney, while Elly is the prejudiced, arrogant, soulless Pam Travers! How did these two ever get together?

We don’t grow up. But we sometimes have to show a proper “Adult Face” to the rest of the world. But It’s all an act.

As parents we watch our kids grow up, little do they realize they are watching us grow up, too.

There is an old saying, “The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys”.

Okay. Deal! I mean really, someone has to teach the kids how to play with all their toys.

One of the fun parts of having kids. I also liked going to kids movies.

Not easy to be forever young. As long as you can think young, you’ll never grow up. Merry Christmas.

Adults don’t actually grow up, they just forget how to play.

The best thing about being a parent is having an excuse to buy the cool toys you did not have as a kid
