Don’t I vaguely remember that Elizabeth started letting her hair grow years ago because she wanted lovely, long hair, just like her mother’s?

Don’t cut it! Just take it out of the ponytail and wear it down!

Don’t they have those cheapie hair cutting places in Canada? While I go to a full salon to get highlights, I don’t let them cut my hair. They want $65 for a haircut and all I need is a trim. Plus I have baby fine hair so it takes all of 3 minutes to trim. I get the haircut at a cheapie place and pay less than $20. Actually, I now get the senior citizen discount so I pay about $15. I give the girl a $5 tip because it’s easy to hand them $20.

Most girls start to make decisions about their hair by this age! Not like she’s dyeing it purple! That I can see she might want to get permission for.

Best haircut story ever: One day, in high school, some friends & I were talking about what we were going to do after graduation. One friend said that she wanted to be a hairstylist. Another friend said, “Great; you can be the one to cut Karen’s [me] hair.” The first friend said, “NO WAY am I going to be the one to cut her hair!” At the time my hair was down to my waist. Anyway, fast forward to when I was about 20 years old and decided that I needed a change. I walked into a Supercuts and told them that I wanted my hair cut up to my shoulders. The girl behind the counter actually tried to talk me out of it! Anyway, she brought me to my chair. After a short wait, I hear a gasp behind me. Yup, you guessed it; my stylist was my friend from high school!

This is why I let my hair grow long. If it costs 20 to 30 dollars to get a hair cut, it would probably cost me over 10,000 dollars to get ALL my hairs cut! I simply can’t afford that!

Twenty to thirty dollars for a haircut? In the US in 1994 it was five dollars. The Pattersons are having a hard time under Chrétienomics.

$20 for a hair cut?!! Why, to get the rest of them done, that’s going to cost…(counts fingers.. takes off shoes…) That’s going to be AT LEAST $100!!

The best lessons in life are the ones learned by experience. Go for it Elizabeth, for good or bad, either way you will learn something new about yourself. Besides the hair will grow back out.

This strip sometimes shows a strained relationship between Elly and her daughter. An ideal parent-child relationship would go something like this:

Dawn remembers last year when she got that haircut she hated, “If only I had asked my mother, I wouldn’t have gotten a haircut.” Of course, Dawn forgets she still has that haircut just grown out a little.

In 2023 I pay half that! Why is a girl paying more, anyway?

I think she’s ready for a makeover…cut her hair and get contact lenses with a new wardrobe. It’s time to get out of her mom’s shadow.

I let the kids do what they want with their hair as long as they wash it. Hair will grow back.

Twenty to thirty dollars?? Glad I’ve been doing my own with clippers every week since 2009.
