I don’t know about fast knitting, but a woman crocheted a beanie for a baby in the last hour of a flight from Cabo San Lucas to Newark recently. https://nypost.Com/2024/01/11/lifestyle/mom-traveling-with-baby-stunned-by-a-strangers-kindness/
Yeah. Like that’s gonna happen. My Mom was fast with knitting, crochet, and tatting needles but not that fast. Of course, in comics one can ignore reality for the dream.
Two Bosnian gastarbeiters are talking, “I wonder what our wives do over there.”“Well, they either knit or do those things with neighbors.”The first took snatched his head, “Man, mine doesn’t know knitting!”
I don’t remember Nelson referring to her as “Grammy” before. I thought it was always “Grandma”. But my memory probably isn’t what it never was.
Just yesterday I saw a short video of a woman on a plane who quick-knitted a cap for a tiny baby sitting in mom’s lap next to her. The baby watched wide-eyed ;-)
I have knited and crocheted for 50+ years and my crocheting is faster than my knitting. However, that article I read said she learned to crochet during the pandemic. Even I, can’t do something like that without instructions to follow. I’m an instruction follower when it comes to my crafts.
Just noticed that GoComics doesn’t print the Sundays in full…as seen on the Pickles Facebook page https://www.facebook.Com/picklescomic/ you should yell at them Mr. Crane
I used to do counted cross stitch, but stopped due to arthritis- I couldn’t hold it for more than 5-10 minutes. Picked my knitting again, that went some better. Then I learned to tat… now I don’t sew, knit or X-stitch. Tatting is more fun and more portable. Mostly I’ve been doing book marks, going to branch out to more intricate things soon.
