If I was Tracy I’d be wondering why there’s still a customer at a table in a restaurant where a person was poisoned & is now a crime scene & which now has the Closed sign on the door, but that’s just me.
P. 1. Dick is hard driven to crack this nut. Sam looks like he’s about lay a sap up the back of Pop’s head. P. 2. Tracy’s mind has become “a churning urn of burning funk”.
How did only one person get the poison? The “victim” wanted a particular sauce. He asked for poisson sauce but the attendant brought the bottle of poison sauce by mistake. Honest error.
Gee Sherlock. Why not arrest the staff on suspicion and interrogation them? Who else but the cooks or staff coulda poisoned it? Unless of course the victim was suicidal.
I’ve solved it! Borgia hates the food at the deli, but he and Palmer had a ton of plates they can’t sell to anyone. (Who wants to eat off a plate with a skull and crossbones?) Popski was offered such a deal, they’ll give him the plates in exchange for food credits.
At the time Borgia didn’t know how bad the food was. He’s started taking antacids, large quantities of them, whenever he eats there. Palmer slipped some poison Tums in the bottle, knowing Borgia would take them sooner or later. And, by amazing coincidence, Sam was there at the exact moment!
Sam needs to stop going to kosher delis. Crime happens whenever he walks in… (Have you seen the price of pastrami? That’s robbery!)
Liberaloony city administrations turn thugs loose on the citizenry while trying to criminalize self~defense>>more than enough to “sour” law enforcement in such unfortunate locales. No wonder big city populations declining!
Tracy’s now talking about ‘the poison’ as if it’s been verified; did he get an off-panel report from the hospital? And what of Borgia’s condition? Is he in any shape to be interviewed yet, hopefully getting us out of this despondent deli scene for a day or two?

Sam has been having a sourpuss look on his face for a couple of days now…
like he sucked on a lemon as he’s constipated at the same time…

(psst) Sam, trying to get the place in the news so it can draw in the curious crowd. He’s lifted so much poison from Evidence.

That’s simple, Tracy: Only one of them was forced to drink milk with mustard in it. Find the person who gave it to him and you have your poisoner!

I posted this yesterday but it bears repeating. This author explains in depth what I have been talking about on this board for some time.
ALL Dick Tracy fans on this page need to read this article:

Wow, you know the story’s below par when Neil Wick doesn’t have anything to say, reviewing what we just read.

If it says “open” on the inside, it says “closed” on the outside. Who is that in the booth in the back?
