I don’t think you’re supposed to go outside in your robe any time of the day…

I swear, that was my mothers favorite expression. And since she never spoke to any of them, I doubt they ceven knew we lived there.

I didn’t go outside in pajamas to get the mail until sometime during covid. I noticed so many people in their pajamas at stores, walking the dog, going to school, etc., that I finally decided that my brief couple of minutes of getting the mail in my pajamas wouldn’t end the world. So far, so good…

I used to feel self-conscious about what neighbors thought about such a thing. Now … I don’t give a flip. As the old saying went, “Whatever it is, don’t do it in the street and scare the horses.”

It’s fine to go to the mail box to get your mail in your robe, however, once you venture past the mailbox you are considered to be an escapee from the local hospital! lol

Tony Soprano always went out to the end of his driveway in his robe to pick up his newspaper. No one ever said a word to him about it. They knew who he was.

My late mother-in-law was scandalized because the lady across the street would come out to the mailbox in her housecoat. Can you imagine??!!! But the woman next door spent the entire summer outside in a bathing suit and mil never batted an eye.

We used to have a neighbor that my dad would say, she “was airing the cat” on their front steps. She would sit on the top step with no underwear on. I didn’t figure it out for many years that he meant airing her pus*y. ;-D

My neighbor, who has since moved, went outside in a robe with his hairy legs showing. I wondered what was underneath.

What will the neighbors think Opal? They will think that Earl is Hugh Hefner, you live in the Playboy Mansion and that you are the head bunny. That’s what the neighbors will think.

Ann Landers (or was it Dear Abby?) once answered a reader’s question by stating that neighbors should be treated as invisible, no matter what they do or don’t wear, when they are on their doorstep.

We’re pretty laid back here in Gulf Breeze and it’s not a problem. The gal down the street cuts the grass in her bikini, tho it’s one of the old fashioned types like Gidget wore.

Earl is wearing a lot more clothes than most people do these days. He is fully covered. What does it matter what the clothes are called?
