In the past 10 years I’ve taken 15 long trips with family; and, yes, I took printed copies of flight, transportation, hotel, and tour information. We have needed at least one of those printouts on every trip. Sometimes, it was just that handing them the paper was much faster than having them search their database but sometimes it was needed to secure the right rooms or the right-size and price vehicle [US car rental agencies seem particularly bad about that]. And I don’t waste the paper. I write comments on the back for when I return from the trip — that’s when I write up my trip reviews.

I used to print my itineraries, and yes, it’s saved my butt a few times.

Now I just keep PDFs of the confirmation pages / emails / receipts on my phone. It’s worked just as well!

And on several occasions, the destination’s computer was down and they couldn’t “do” anything. Paper copies have also proven useful when the mapping software fails to recognize there are more than one chain hotel in a city.

Hey, electronics do fail and at the darnedest times too. A Plugger is always prepared; years of “aw sh!t” moments.

Of Course. Online processes and data, while convenient, can have glitches.

I have a friend who prints out their digital Paystub every payday, and files it in a file cabinet.

A fairly smart approach to travel for anyone. Internet/bluetooth/ tech pieces (phone, watch….)etc are not ALWAYS timely, or accurate.

When we travel (and we do a lot ) we have at least 4 copies of everything. 1 each on my phone, her phone, my iPad and her iPad. We share an email address for travel info, so we could access that form any computer, there’s no need for paper.

Always. One time I had reservation for hotel, showed up and they tried to charge me the ‘weekend walk-in’ price. My printed copy had the correct ‘booked price’ on it, I got it corrected with no hassle. Was extremely glad – the higher price was almost double.

Those QR codes aren’t always stored on your phone. In many case they are in “the cloud” and totally unavailable when you are in a location with no cell signal or when the phone has trouble connecting.
