I fear for the coffee mug. I suspect it may not be long for this world. OZ also may be in line for a bath if her shadow “throws” more of its contents on her!
Iggy: This is a great shadow box! It not only shows our wood working skills, but Iron Glove’s great metal work!
Iron Glove: And it’s a cautionary tale on the dangers of shelves.
Wally: I wonder if Mandy and Lynn would like to do a shadow box.
Iggy: Yeah. They are builders, too. But maybe they’d like to do their own shadow box.
At the Luthiers’ Studio
Mandy: We would love to do a shadow box for the fundraiser. It can feature the tools Iron Glove made for the guitar as well as some of our own instruments.
Lynn: We can add replicas of the percussion instruments we made for Ora Z’s Mallets Towards None band.
Wally: I bet Ora Z could shred some papyrus to make papyrus maché replicas.
Sometime Later
Mandy: So if you wouldn’t mind donating some of your old discarded scrolls, we could use them to make papyrus maché replica instruments.
Elvis-Anum: Be glad to. You will safeguard them from fire, though, won’t you?
Lynn: Not a problem. Thomios will have his fire brigade at the ready.
Please pray, send good thoughts, and Power of the Paw for my friend Cynthia. She has suffered a serious stroke and is facing a long recovery. She is in rehab now, one of the best around.
I was trying to figure out where this is taking place. The pattern is the same pattern as the ironing board cover in the break room/laundry room, but I can’t figure out why there would be a mug of coffee on the ironing board. (Assuming it’s the woman’s mug and not one of the other cats’ imaginary mug. This is all so confusing!) If it is real and is in the basement, the splash probably won’t cause as much damage as if it were inside the apartment. Is there something else in the house with the same pattern?
I’ve lived several miles north of the Paton Center for over 20 years and I still have not been down there! People visit from all over the world. Another good place to visit down here is Madera Canyon in the Santa Rita mountains. Regardless, everywhere around here is great for birding and flower-watching too. Three different biomes meet in SW Arizona. Many things living or visiting here that are found nowhere else in the US.
My Fuzzball did this to his reflection on a floor length mirror. Floofed up, attempted to attack the cat in the mirror and smacked a water bowl into it. Bowl splashed back on him, (wet cat!) he let out a horrible howl and tried to physically attack the mirror. I laughed so hard had to sit down to catch my breath. He never would go near that mirror from then on.
I hung up a birthday card with kittens on it at cat viewing height. One of the cats took a dislike for just one of the kittens on it and swatted it every time he passed the card.

I love how outraged she is that her shadow has the audacity to do to her what she just did to it.

Ora Z remember the golden rule. Do unto your shadow that which you wish your shadow would do unto you.

Billy Rose and Others: Me and My Shadow
My shadow and I, facing off along the spotless wall
My shadow and I, a coffee mug preparing for a fall
As I give a push, with the coffee back,
My shadow does the same, pushes it right back
Oh, my shadow and I still at odds along the wall!

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of kittens? The Shadow knows!

I thought the worst that would happen to the wall was a few scuffs and scratches. This is something else. The last panel is quite amusing.

This raises the question…is that Ora Zella’s coffee mug? Is she drinking that? All of that?
If so, it might be time to switch her to Lupin’s stealth decaf blend.

Ora Zella, sweetie, it’s not nice to spill the Woman’s coffee while she’s dealing with the aftermath of your crash the other day.
