GRAMMAR POLICE, EVERYONE: PIG “SHOULD” HAVE SAID, (if he wanted to be grammatically correct, that is) WAS: “achievement man never stood a chance!!!!” Dan aka…
To me, it’s not a “Laziness Monster”; more like a Monster of Negative Self-Esteem.
I have a theory that we’re all given this sub-conscience voice. It tells us positive influence when everything is great, but also degrades us when things are horribly wrong. The unfortunate thing is that negative side can speak louder and longer lasting to some, to the point where you lose motivation for even basic daily functions. That holds more true if you listen and give in to what it tells you.
Frank Gilbreth, pioneer of time and motion study and dad in Cheaper by the Dozen used to ask factory supervisors, “Show me the laziest person you have.” I took that to heart when I read the book when I was 9.

Why isn’t Achievement Man able to leap over, or at least sidestep, the Laziness Monster?
