Most likely, Calvin’s parents will never know about his little “bet”, but I can’t help but wonder what their reactions would be if they did. Betcha Dad would be PO’d that Calvin lost out to a “mere girl”!

Technically he cheated her out of 5 cents. Go to September 21, 1990 he said let’s double it to 35 cents.

Susie is not only much better at Math than Calvin but a much better better than Calvin.

I imagine you have 100 cents in a dollar… but the only Dime I’m aware of is a chocolate bar… So I would probable make the same mistake as Calvin…

Ignorance is bliss. And Calvin has proven he’s a ery blissful person.

Cal has a ‘yo-yo’ personality which seems to work smoothly at times but also develops occasional knots in the string.

Calvin doesn’t need to study harder. He just needs to figure out how to earn LOTS of money.

It must be nice to be right with every thought one has, but Calvin sure has that down to a science…I just can’t understand the process he used to determine how 3 dimes is less than a quarter. That is he believes two dimes and a nickel is worth more than 3 dimes because the nickel is bigger?

Yep…..really do need the Math!!!!

His Dad will be so proud as to how much character development Calvin has obtained.

However, look at the bright side, Calvin. The whole week with fantastic Spaceman Spiff smashing two planets together was a great arc and much better than a week with a clogged toilet elsewhere. You know who you are.

My uncle was with his little sister when they found some coins on the ground. Ever generous, my uncle said to his sister that she could keep all the big nickels and he would be happy with the little dimes.

The gap between Calvin’s prodigious intelligence in language and vocabulary, and his severe problems in math, is interesting. These days he’d probably get diagnosed with dyscalculia and get extra help.

A nickel apiece or two for a quarter.

It’s hard to empathize with someone who keeps doing stupid things.

We used to do an introductory experiment that required a penny, a nickel, and a dime. I told the students that if they couldn’t locate the proper coins, the department secretary would give them a set for a quarter. I don’t think anyone took us up on it…

I gave up on it when the campus vending machines switched to taking credit cards. Nobody carries change anymore…
