These creatures that Opal is so afraid of are harmless if you keep your cool and just don’t aggravate them. I was confronted with a wasp sitting on my balcony but the thing was too busy with the flowers to even care about me. Story of my life!
I still cannot understand how a tiny insect can terrify people like Opal. Bees and spiders are good insects, and will leave you alone as long as you leave them alone.
It’s October! You know what that means? Great big spider season!
The big fat orb weaving barn spiders haven’t learned yet to not build their webs along my walkway. Had to take out two webs just to walk 10 feet to drop off a bag of garbage
Earl might participate in “Hot August Nights,” a huge days-long auto (and other stuff) show in Reno. The Pickles live in Sparks, which abuts Reno. Brian Crane lives in Sparks as well. We used to live about four blocks from them before they moved up into the foothills. I greatly enjoyed a presentation by Crane in one of the libraries in Sparks many years ago.
A bit of trivia, Mr. Ed TV show was sponsored by Studebaker! Alan Young on Dave White Presents said they were offered a new one every year, he also joked Mr. Ed put the company out of business! I liked Alan in the Time Machine (1960) movie with Yvette Mimieux, excuse my spelling!

Earl should enter politics. He’s learned how to succeed. Just lie to get whatever you want.

To all of yesterday’s commenters who suggested Earl should say this, give yourselves a well-deserved pat on the back.

My uncle had a Studebaker, back in the mid-50s. It was bright red, if I recall correctly.

Remember that Studebaker used to sponsor Mr. Ed and Wilbur drove one.

I was wondering how Earl (who historically is more squeamish than Opal) was going to handle this. Well done. Earl!
