Arlo should only say he likes it. There’s no down side, only up. If she hates, he can be reassuring to her. If she likes, then her feelings are confirmed.

My wife decided to stop coloring her hair, it is a pleasant shade of white. She looks good!

My mom had her natural hair color well into her ’70’s. My three brothers all inherited her genes. I got my dad’s hair genes which means I’ve lost some and I went gray in my 40s. I was walking someplace with my older brother (by 5 years) and someone who knew him asked if I was his older brother. He laughingly said yes. I didn’t bother to contradict him.

Never ask a male what he thinks of your hair style. That is the second worst question to ask.. that there is NO good answer. We all know the actual worse question you could ask .. so DON’T ask it. lol

Have you heard the “pink rat” story? When I have my hair color done, I’m mostly white hair now but still have blond streaks done at the salon. It does look brighter and different than when before the salon. My husband smiles with a wink and always says, “pink rat” when I get home. Researchers would put a female rat in with a male rat and he would be very “interested” in his new companion. After a while, his ardor would diminish. The researchers then would take the girl rat and dye her pink. When put back in with the male rat, he was suddenly very amorous again. “Pink rat” always makes me laugh.

My wife has coloured her hair for as long as I’ve known her (34 years). I have sworn to have her hair coloured at the mortuary before the open the casket.

I remember once when my unsolicited opinion worked out for me. My boss’ boss’ wife had apparently just come from getting her hair-style changed. I said “You changed your hair! It makes you look ten years younger!” She squealed and threw her arms around me! It was embarrassing, but I guess I scored some Brownie Points that day… ☺

This kind of change has to make a cartoonist nervous that the colorist will catch on to what he/she’s supposed to do.

Never dyed my hair, I used to have a lot of natural colors including shiny gold highlights, now have greys and shiny silver highlights and a lot more ‘body’. Loved it then, love it now.

Much better to just let it go gray naturally and gradually than to start coloring and then abruptly stop. I knew a lady whose hair was dark brown…only it wasn’t, and one day she had stopped coloring and went to her natural color which by then was pure white. I initially saw her from a distance and thought she was wearing a bathing cap!!!!! Took a while to get used to it.

My mother developed silver grey hair in her late 30s, until her mother died. Then she began dying it to a “fake” brown. I disliked it a lot and used to tease her that she looked like a painted lady. Nevertheless, she persisted until she was near 80, and then her hair was pure white. It was gorgeous.

I’ve always believed that color does not hurt the operation. That, actually, is a good thing, considering some of the colors I’ve seen on some people’s heads, nowadays!

It’s not a beautiful gray, sorry. Going white would have made more sense, and been in line with her dynamic personality. Here, she is just dull!

Long hair is cheaper to deal with.

When my hair gets too long and annoys me I put it in a pony tail holder, flip it up and over my head and snip. I wear it up in a hair clip (barrette when I do a reenactment as same hides better under my cap) so if it not cut even it is not noticeable.

When husband’s hair gets too long, he puts it into it’s regular que (same as a pony tail, but he fells better calling it by its 18th century name) and I cut it for him – one snip.
