Hobbes is such a critic

Calvin smugly strolling away,

Thinks his joke grand, it seems.

Tiger, pouncing upon unwary prey

will turn laughter into screams.

He who laughs last …

He’ll show YOU who’s brain is well done !

Never turns your back to a tiger. This why we goes into jungles with wearing a face drawing on backside of head.

And he wonders why he keeps getting ambushed….

You’re in trouble now, Calvin! You disturbed Hobbes’ nap.

Tiger, Tiger, burning REALLY bright!

Then in Panel 3 (removed to expand Panel 2), Calvin is promptly mauled!

Great poetry but bad timing and location. Seems likely not to be appreciated by the subject.

Calvin’s sadly turned his back, On Hobbes who does some humor lack. Laughing loudly he doesn’t see, He soon a tattered child will be. For Hobbes does not think Calvin’s funny, And will treat him like a bunny. (Burma Shave)

This reminds me of movies and tv shows where the bad guys have the good guy in custody and s/he goes out of his way to irritate the bad guys. dumb.
