How did her room get so clean, so fast?

How did they suddenly end up in Felix Unger’s bedroom?

Heeere we go again!

It’s not a competition she says, as she applies mascara.

Luann gets more clueless as time goes on.

Yes, it is.

So Luann can clean her room. That was fast. And now she’s putting on makeup for Piro. Not sure what either girl sees in him. I’m not attracted to men with a lot of problems.

So Piro actually completely quit school.

I don’t remember that from the last arc he was in. There was a lot of revelation about the details of how much of a mess his life was.

Mother’s medical woes. His responsibilities caretaking/raising his siblings. Stepfather who made little to no effort to uphold his responsibilities, let alone actually be a good parent. How dismissive/hostile his stepfather is towards him.

But his actually quitting school altogether to deal with all of that is new information, isn’t it?

Not a competition my a$$. What else, other than a guy, would motivate Luann to clean her room?

It’s a pity that these strips must be submitted weeks in advance. The current wildfires in SOCAL could make an interesting impact on Luann’s choice of college courses. She might be inspired to learn something similar to her brother’s knowledge of firefighting. She might learn forestry management as a means of preventing or mitigating the fires that are a frequent feature in her region. Bernice, on the other hand, might learn how to apply her penchant for psychoanalysis and counseling to the many drug-addicted and unemployed homeless in her region. Both girls could learn practical skills conducive to gainful employment that is societally constructive.

Wow Luann’s room sure got cleaned up in a hurry. Greg musta tilted the slate an all th junk that was layin around in Luann’s room slid down into the ‘Get Fuzzy’ cartoon

In order to get Luann’s room that clean, Greg must have rubbed off half of a new eraser. Now he needs to use the other half on Luann.

These two ‘friends’ always seem to bring the worst out in each other. Good times!

Okay, Bernice has got a fair point for a change: Piro reached out to HER and NOT Luann.

BUT.

Piro is coming over to LUANN’S house, NOT Bernice’s. So is it really fair that Luann be shut out completely on what’s going on with Piro?

Yeah, Yeah, I know. Piro “is entitled to his privacy.” So is Bernice. And if Bern and Piro truly want a “private talk” they can always go for a walk somewhere outside of the DeGoot homestead.But IMO, it seems that Bernice only “circles the wagons” when it comes to protecting the interests and privacy of Guys that Luann has a possible “interest” in. Guys like her brother Ben York and now, Piro. But when it comes to gals with “problems” it’s all hands on deck and Their “privacy” be darned, as far as Bern is concerned. Remember when Bern (And yeah) Luann, and Dez, meddled in Tiffany’s affairs when she was depressed some years back? There was NO “We should Mind our OWN business” admonitions coming from Bernice back then. But hey. The wild fire has started, Bernice is about to go mamma bear “protecting” Piro, and Lu is going to go full “Buttinski” making a fool of herself in the process. ;-)

Quitting school doesn’t mean much in this strip, since Bets was able to walk in and out of Moony on a whim.

In the closet, under the bead, dresser things swept into empty drawers….I had a friend who hid dirty dishes in the oven.

And suddenly, LuAnn’s room is all picked up and she applying makeup. For a text message that she won’t be allowed to see????

Even though it’s not a competition, Luann wants to be at her best. I don’t think she has a chance with Piro because he clearly likes Bernice, however, it’s good to see how hard she’s working to make a good impression. Let’s hope Piro is ok, but I doubt someone like him would want to meet Bernice just to say that everything is fine.

Way to not be a friend. Plus why would Luann covet a guy whose interest — if any — would be for Bernice, when there’s a perfectly wonderful guy much better suited for her who works as nurse at Mrs. Horner’s senior home and is just waiting for an opportunity to ask her out?

Bernice and Piro are somehow related, right? I seem to remember a story arc about that…and they seemed to get along…it would explain Piro being comfortable reaching out to her

Impudent, oblivious, obnoxious, self-centered, delusional. As I predicted, Luann is going to assume it is all about HER. She needs to get a reality check and learn there are other people who MIGHT be just as important as her, but what is really going to happen is she will make a fool of herself tomorrow and all next week. I would like to see that Piro enlisted, then Luann, Bernice and Tara could all enlist and chase him around the world LOL!

He did reach out to Bernice. If this were a competition (and it shouldn’t be), it would be point Bernice.

Bernice was correct in that Piro reached out to her, not Luann. And Luann getting all dolled up is a bit pathetic. Piro has never shown any interest in Luann.

Bernice and Lu need to drop it. Piro is quite clear that he wants to be left alone. Let him reach out when he ready.

Well, it sort of is—-because Luann has turned it into one! I hope she won’t pester him trying to be “over the top funny” as she usually does with disastrous results. She’s a much better fit for Jack (whom she has fun with) or even Phil, with whom she’s had some mature and interesting conversations. Piro needs someone less kinetic in his life. She needs peace and quiet and someone who is a good listener.

I think Piro is coming to say thanks for the help but I am taking off, skipping town (to another cartoon strip, you two are going nowhere). I have a crazy cousin who wants to do insane things, an orange-haired ditz who is hot after my body and I have no interest and you Bern, but you are nuttier than me. So so-long. (◠‿◠)

Yeah, the quickly cleaned up room seems impossibly done. I thought they might have moved to Bern’s room, actually. I have to say that I don’t like Luann and Bern chasing a guy that is troubled and has deep issues, so that they can rescue him. That’s such a poor message.
