Sophie, you were missing out for a long time. You and Tommy really do have a similar take on many things. I think we can all say this about people we once snubbed for no good reason. And for those who snubbed us.
Even though I’m tired of snow, I’m loving Tommy’s reports this week. I thought yesterday’s was going to be my favorite, but I love this one, too. I think Tommy should win a regional Emmy award for this one!
Our snow stopped late afternoon yesterday. We got another 4 inches or so. Lots of accidents reported everywhere, the roads were bad. I didn’t see a plow until almost noon, but we’re one of the last roads to be done most of the time. And it’s 16 this morning which means it might get to 20 today! Or not…But it sure is pretty out.
We are trying to defrost the freezer. We have no choice because the door was having a hard time closing. It’s taking longer than usual because we don’t have heat in that part of the house and baby, it’s cold inside. We just heat bedrooms and bathrooms.
People up north get multiple feet of snow (depending on how far north) and truck through it, and people down south get 3 inches every few years and shut down everything. It’s the same in reverse when it comes to heat.

Does anyone else think that the drifts in panel 3 look like cat ears?

The bird skating rink! I wonder who will win the inevitable competition?

So much depends upon
A green wheelbarrow
Glazed in snow
With tumbling chickadees.

I love watching the snow as long as I’m watching it on TV or a video and it is nowhere near me.

I think that’s Chitter and Chatter, and it looks like they are ice skating!

Snow is great as long as you have a pair of dependable legs under you. However, snow is genuinely frightening if you are unsteady on your feet.

So poetic! Being an explorer in a snowy landscape is wonderful, as long as one can easily retreat to warmth and a hot beverage.

Someone open the door at the BPH and let Tommy come in to warm up some. He must be cold by now. Thank you

Every branch big with it,
Bent every twig with it;

Every fork like a white web-foot;

Every street and pavement mute:

Some flakes have lost their way, and grope back upward when

Meeting those meandering down they turn and descend again.
     Â
The palings are glued together like a wall,
       Â
And there is no waft of wind with the fleecy fall.
A sparrow enters the tree,
Whereon immediately
A snow-lump thrice his own slight size
      Â
Descends on him and showers his head and eye
  And overturns him,
Â
And near inurns him,
And lights on a nether twig, when its brush

Starts off a volley of other lodging lumps with a rush.
The steps are a blanched slope,

 Up which, with feeble hope,
Â
A silly cat comes, wide-eyed and thin;

And we take him in.

Seals and Crofts: We May Never Pass This Way Again
Snow, so they say
Will be here now and tomorrow melt away
Magic, reflected in the sun
Should be over, but it’s only just begun!
…….
Comes the twilight we must all be safe
It’s hard to see just where we’re going
Our friends are home, there’s the road up ahead
There’s no need to fear, they lift us off
Always Up!
…….
We will play in the snow again!
We will play in the snow again!
…….
Bea, her polydactyl paws,
When she wants to walk through snow just because,
Burt enjoys a cup of tea
Goldie sneaks out to see what she wants to see
…….
Cat forbid Lupin should ever get out
We would never see where he is going
Still we know there is so much to do and see
Walking through the snow will take us up
Always Up!
…….
We will play in the snow again!
We will play in the snow again!
…….
So I want to sled when the sledding is easy
I want to fall down and make a snow angel
It may never snow like this again
That’s why I love a mew!
I love to share my stories with my Orb Friends
Life is a journey, enjoy it to the end
I may never pass this way again
Share my filks and stories with all of you!
…….
We will play in the snow again!
We will play in the snow again!
We will laugh and play again!

Another magical phenomenon is discovering that under the thin crust there is 3 feet of powdery stuff you have to escape from.
