And if the tooth fairy was so gullible, would Mom and Dad let Calvin keep the $150?? I think not!!

Now that paper newspapers no longer exist in many cities, what do children put down when they work with plaster?

I think he has a point about the tooth fairy. Unless she has some cunning scam that makes the teeth really valuable. (I only got sixpence for most of mine, but I think I got a shilling each for the last few. )

And I note that while he can’t do even simple arithmetic in class, when it comes to calculating profit for himself, his ability suddenly improves.

Obviously personal involvement is the key.

Now if he were actually on one of those trains that are regularly rushing towards each other at given speeds, he might be able to calculate exactly when he would perish horribly in a spectacular crash.

The drawback is that he has to inform Mom first because she notifies the fairy. He may be able to fool the fairy, but not Mom.

The tooth fairy has a side gig……a charity, if you will, making custom fit dentures for sharks who tried to eat clown fish who ducked into coral reefs.

50 cents? I only got a quarter for mine. And that was after several nights because my folks kept forgetting about it.

Calvin doesn’t realize what the tooth fairy resells those teeth for on the black market.

One of Terry Pratchett’s Discoworld books has the Tooth Fairy as a main character. You find out what yhey do with the teeth. It’s not pretty.

That’s Cal. Eyes always on the prize. Nothing is ever acceptable as is.

The math in Calvin’s strip today, assumes Calvin will never succumb to a desire to buy candy or something similar during the year. On the other hand, it also assumes he will not invest the money.

That Cal…..always figuring an “angle”!!!!!!……..most I ever got was a nickel!

Well, if he were doing that now (putting his tooth under the pillow) he’d probably make $5. The rate has gone up – though it may drop under DOGE. I can see the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and Santa Claus all being shut down. If they can think of shutting down the Department of Education, who knows how far they’ll go?

She doesn’t want the tooth, Calvin. She wants to indulge a childhood fantasy. But only so far.

Price of teeth has gone up over the years. Some tooth fairies pay a couple of dollars now. I am waiting for the day when the kid just leaves a Venmo QR code for the tooth fairy. Or maybe the tooth fairy will leave the kid a gift card.

Even the school Principal will have difficulty working out that 150 dollars in a year! Somehow the school is not able to comprehend this six year old.
