Does she ever rest? Between painting, housework, and using all that fabric she buys, she stays busy.

The room is called a “living room” because it’s the space where people typically gather to relax, socialize, and entertain, representing the core of daily life and “living” within a home.

Nelson, although your grandpa is asleep, he’s still living.

The 1st apartment I had after I was homeless in April 1994 theoretically was a 3-room apartment. There was tiny room by the door to the outside hallway and a kitchenette by that room. The big room was the living room, the bedroom and the dining room. I live in a small 4-room house now. Because of the way I am disabled, I sleep in the lift chair in the living room There’s no room in the kitchen for a table; so, I have a bar stool with a round table top on it to use as my table in the living room.

I was was several months than four years old when my one grampa died of a heart attack in his living room. I couldn’t understand how his heart could attack him … and how he could die in his ‘living’ room.

The older I get, the more I’ve come to like taking naps during the day. In my experience, it doesn’t interfere with how I sleep at night, although I know that daytime napping makes a good night’s sleep more difficult for some.

The living room used to be called the “drawing room”, while the bedroom was called the “withdrawing room”.

More like ‘sleeping room.’ No matter how I try, dozing off in front of the TV is a regular thing with me.

Way back when, houses had parlors and kitchens and bedrooms.

Then people said, "Let’s have a second parlor to live in, and keep the parlor neat for guests.

About the time I came along, people said “We never use the parlor, let’s leave it out of new houses.”

Now they are saying “Let’s have a family room to live in, and keep the living room neat for guests.”
