He sees himself superior. Elitist and a snob

Lunarian supremacy. The Earthlings he would rob

Of autonomy, tranquility, safety, and long life

Replaced by Ro-Zan’s iron fist, defeat, bloodshed, and strife.

Through his eyes envision lies: barbarity of “Others”

Sneers at those not like himself. Denies they could be brothers.

Views the Chimera as a freak. His judgment condescending

Great is his hate. Contempt his fate. Such malice is unending.

Great detective, soft and weak, a target for derision

Ro-Zan’s pride and arrogance assure a great collision.

    Good morning™, all!

You have to worry about those secret meetings. Okay, so we add Tezla to the cast. They apparently like names with z in them. If Tezla is any indication of the mood of the faction, they have a lot of confidence in their fight against what they consider to be substandard beings. This could be much, much worse than the struggle attempted by the late Senator Bellowthon.

    Good morning™, backroom brigands !

They are sure fire ready to rob Earth of all that makes it a decent place to live only to replace it with their ‘crystal’ vision of a brighter future ….. If you’re one of the chosen.

I knew Pinky couldn’t be trusted!

See what watching so much TV does to the brain?

The Govassador should just crush this rebellion before it takes root.

I guess not only humans are racist! (Very sad)

I actually like today’s strip(heavens to murgatroyd!)Too bad I have zero confidence it won’t fizzle out like every other story does.

This faction is probably the reason why the Governor became the Ambassador. I wonder what they did to somehow gain control of the colony. They might have known or done something to strip the Governor of his powers. Those loonies in the secret meeting are probably the ones holding real power in NMV.

Not sure why today’s strip made me think of the 1958 film, Queen of Outer Space. I guess silly attempts at SF do that to me. At least the 1958 film had Zsa Zsa Gabor to redeem it.

Tezla needs to take better notes when she’s watching Svengoolie: Frankenstein was the mad doctor, not the nameless monster (as people like me have been pointing out tiresomely but correctly for many years).

OT: Today’s Popeye contained footnotes to two strips that were published more than 80 years ago! Just think of how unwieldly that would be in DT!

Given they love the cold I would like to see how they would manage to conquer a place like India(or any part of our warming planet) Genghis Khans armies did not invade India as the area was far to hot for them

I’m not sure how far these would-be conquerors will be able to go in their current attire! True, the British may have bent a large part of the world to their will while wearing that hue, but this is a sci-fi story and we all know what happens to redshirts in Star Trek! XD

I’ve read Dick Tracy since the 1940’s-especially the comic books. (and daily strips) This all stopped in 1964 with the advent of “Moon junk” Doesn’t fit in at all….P.S. I even sold garden seeds from back of comics to earn me a Dick Tracy camera!

First panel, very, very good. They established early on the the Lunarians were living at the moon’s south polar region. Earth would indeed be very low on the horizon there.

Prime instance of comic reality. In ‘real life’ these people would be talking in their own language and Team Tracy would note that it has been translated for us. (Gary Trudeau put such text in parentheses.)

Also, there is the comic reality that this will be done by September (bets?). How will Team Tracy wrap such a big issue up in such short time, credibly?

1-BRO-ZAN: Hello. I’m Bro-zan and I’m an alco…wait…wrong meeting… This is the editorial meeting for the New Moon Times paper, right?

2-…Ok. As you know, the Govador believes that BONE-AIR and that girl there – the one I’m pointing at in a peculiar way – are the only hopes to repopulate the Moon Race.

RED-HAIR: The Americans already won that one back in… BRO-ZAN: NOT THAT ONE! Let’s table that for the moment…

3-…I need a caption for this picture that I’m running in tomorrow’s paper. Anyone?

4-RED-HAIR:* Have him praying Please conquer us Moon People! And include an editorial how the puny Earthlings need us to subjugate them.

-5-BRO-ZAN:* Well, I was looking for something humorous like “Moon people keep it colder than a ice cube on top of the Govador’s wife’s t*t on top of Mt Everest here” but I LIKE YOURS BETTER! WRITE IT UP AND RUN IT!

I was pretty young when Moon Maid was introduced, so forgive me if I am wrong, but wasn’t Moon Valley free from crime? The Lunarians didn’t know of crime until the earthlings became involved? Bribery, The Chin Chillars, and others?

This master race (or these representatives of it) embody some of the worst traits of the Terrans they so vilify. Thomas Sowell described a pattern of slavery that occurred throughout human history where the (supposedly) stronger people would subdue or conquer (and enslave) the (supposedly) weaker people.

I would still like to see a backstory on the origins of the Lunarians — Chester Gould never explained because he himself didn’t know; neither did most of the scientists of his day. Planetology and exobiology are newly-developing sciences. The Lunarian anatomy is not consistent with the known fossil record of Earth, so they likely did not come from Earth. They may have come from a different star system, and settled on Earth’s natural satellite just as today’s astronomers consider colonizing some of the moons of exoplanets.

Of course we are superior to those Earthlings! They live in a civilization which, while it does have serious problems, is extremely high advanced, while we live in dark caves beneath a wasteland!

And here they are, the cabal of LunARYANS [hat-tip to firestrike1 for that incisive coinage, though he took it even a step further, to “LoonAryans”], rebels, renegades, subversives, xenophobes, hate-mongers, power-crazed plotters. Led by Ro-Zan, with ample assist from the lovely and evil Tezla. Their plot is made clear.

Ambassador’s need for Tracy’s detective skills (greatly underestimated by Tezla, caught up in her own delusions) is clear enough. The cabal is a secret, underground group, and help in ferreting them out is needed.

The question is, are Ambassador’s resources, even with Tracy and the Dynamic Duo of Mysta and Honeymoon on board, sufficient to nip the Bad Guys’ plot in the bud?
