Until I was 45 I enjoyed both, a lot!Then tea started to make me feel ill.

Then at 55 coffee started to make me feel ill!

Now it’s coffee only 3 times a week.

What a drag it is getting old!

I never make my own coffee, and almost always make my own tea.

Of course I also never drink coffee at all. It’s really impressive how something that smells good can taste so bad! (of course, the reason I don’t drink it is more about the fact that both times I’ve tried it, the (ahem) outcome… has been really REALLY unpleasant.

When I do go to Starbucks for tea, I walk in and I’m out before the long line has even moved two or three cars.

I make my own both, but tea only when I want to take more time with it.

The line at the restroom gets pretty long, too. Funny how one cup of coffee can create 3-5 restroom visits!

The only tea I like is the Indian tea (tea, milk, sugar, no water) and the Tibetan butter tea. Call me weird.

I would argue that they take pretty much the same amount of time. I’ve started having herbal tea in the late evening and it takes about the same amount of time to make as my coffee. You have to factor in taking the time to get the water to a boil and then steeping it.

Having been blessed with a distaste for both coffee & tea, I have more time to waste on fun stuff like this.

The bright side of coffee is that I can set up the coffee maker in th e morning, then get coffee whenever I want it (with a little help from the microwave). For tea, I have to nuke the water, then dunk the tea bag and wait 5 minutes. So I actually consider tea more work.

A future more enlightened human race will scratch its head when it tries to figure out the drive-thru concept.

I try to make do with both. My doctor even told me to balance both fruits and vegetables.

It’s a time factor involving a whole ten minutes saved if you don’t make it before you leave home. Of course, it might take much longer to wait in line, but then you get the pleasure of being waited on – depending where you buy. Some stops are worth missing.

I never realized making coffee was such an insurmountable task

Why do people drink coffee if it’s easier to make tea? I do because I think coffee tastes better. And yes, I make my own.

Takes me less than 5 minutes to set up my coffee – and that’s including grinding beans. It would take me longer than that to find my wallet to go out and get coffee, not to mention the time driving there, waiting in line etc.

When I was working midshift it amazed me the number of people who won’t make coffee. When someone did make a pot they were on it before the end of the brewing cycle and emptied the pot.

I don’t really drink hot drinks that often and mostly prefer it unsweetened. So, I tend not to go to Starbucks and such because it seems silly to spend that much for plain iced tea. I’ve tried iced coffee – and it smells nice, but tastes too bitter for me. I’ve tried the frappachino sort of drinks … and am undecided.

Coffee has become a recreational beverage. As I get older my vices seem to be falling away. I miss some of them!

I drink both. They’re both just as easy to make if you own a coffee press. ;-)

Tea. Earl Grey. Hot. Add loose tea to tea pot. Enough for 1 cup more than teapot capacity. Boil sufficient water. Add boiled water to pot. Stir. Cover. Allow 12 – 15 minutes to brew. Pour into suitable vessel. Enjoy. Consume biscuits, scones or anything suitable with tea if desired.

One word – Keurig.

I take my caffeine cold. Prep time: 5 seconds (take from fridge, twist off cap, start drinking).

I like both coffee and tea….. but prefer coffee because I like its bitter flavors. In comparison, teas tend to offer more muted flavors (more diverse, but generally more muted).

That said, I am considered an “odd-duck” because I only drink COLD beverages. So, my dark, black, unadulterated coffee or my multiple teabag (or large quantity loose tea) beverage is served over ample ice once it is finished brewing/steeping.

I do not like “hot” food either…. spicy is wonderful…. but food…. just a little bit above room temperature to room temperature is my prefered zone. I am always fine with the cooler temperature, whereas my wife and kids are always running to the microwave at home to heat food up just a “bit more” until (to me) it is nearly like lava.

P.S. It is always a delight to me when Principal Spaetzel is featured!!!!!!! I see him as a kindred spirit. :)

I always thought Mr. Spaetzle made his own, given that he’s repeatedly been the punchline for leaving his coffee on the roof of his car in the mornings (implying he makes it at home and brings it in his giant to-go cup). And if Caulfield was this curious about coffee being labour-intensive, surely he’d have gone to his confidante Frazz, given he drinks meticulously prepared espresso (which I’m SURE he’s never gotten prepared from a coffee shop)

Tea is easier to make? Not from what I’ve seen. I think it all depends, so he’s wrong again.
