It is going to be interesting to see how this plays out. I think Ann’s plans are going to fall through and we are going to Ann and Tiff sitting across from each other for a true Thanksgiving drama fest. What are the holidays with out some sort of family blow up.

According to that sign next to Tiff in the last panel, there’s a staff meeting in the offing. I wonder if Tiff will have to work, ruining her chances of be alone with her dad?

Ah. Of Course! “Hero” Les will selfless step up and agree to work on Tiffany’s behalf!

But what I’d REALLY like to see is:

1) Tom Ferrell making a special announcement. And since announcing that he’s dumped Ann would be too good to be true, is a wedding announcement in the offing?

2) Ann showing up and wanting to have a Mother/Son Thanksgiving dinner with Les.

3) Gunther inviting Bets to dinner at the Berger/Grays and their reaction to Bets.

THIS should be and INTENSE Week!

Yup. The kitten has improved his attitude.

The staff meeting could be about being closed on Thanksgiving. Because Tiffany looks so happy, I’m sure something will go wrong.

That staff meeting bodes ominously. My guess is that there will be something going on that requires all hands on deck on Thanksgiving, thus ruining everybody’s plans.

Ann has other plans. She is going out for a bite with Shannon…

That’s rather unsettling. Sure Tiffany and her father are having their traditional “Thanksgiving feast for two” but the $64.00 question is…*where does that leave Anne Eiffel? What’s she going to do???* :/

I have a sneaking feeling Ann said to Tom she had other plans but actually she doesn’t and shows up at their dinner just to dig at Tiffany. She’ll have an excuse at ready why she is not where she was supposed to be. We know she will not be with Les or her brother Al. So she does not have any plans with family. Either she lied to Tom or has a nefarious plan…

I think Templo’s got it right and she’ll drop in on Les and Al, and drop nasty “Reminiscences” about old times together that will make Irma squirm and Al throw her out. Irma winds up questioning the whole marriage, Gunther winds up torn between vindication of his mistrust of Mr. Gray and grief for what that actually entails for his mother. Then we get another week or two to sort out the fallout and get those two aging but cute lovebirds back together again.

Even if one of them does have a shady past.

Let’s just the turkey legs will be flying. On T-day !!

Already going to call it. Tiffany shows up, Ann is there and announces that they are engaged to be married. Tiffany leaves and arrives at the epic T-day feast as a last minute guest, being very apologetic but welcomed in with open arms. Mr. Gray pulls Tiffany aside at the very end to talk to her. Why? We don’t know.

As a reminder, this is what was like almost exactly a year ago when Tom and Tiff had dinner. Guess who crashed?

And the guys were getting along. At least for the moment.

Getting back to Tiffany, unless Ann gets arrested for shoplifting, whatever happens the rest of the week won’t bode well for our long suffering heroine……..,

You would think the place would close for Thanksgiving!

I don’t remember. Does Tiffany know that Les is Ann’s son?

I hate to show my pessimism, but Tiff looks SO happy in #2. If Ann wrecks things and shows up with her lame excuses, it will really make me angry and Tiff sad. We don’t need or want that!

Somehow I expect Ann’s nasty ass will show. Tiff needs to show her who’s the boss and knock her flat on her ass when she does. Ann is the worst character this strip has ever had.

Les will cover for her.

Our Medical Director is Jewish, and he always took call during Christian holidays. We never had to worry about getting vacation time for Christmas or Easter. He’d even take Thanksgiving call. He treated his staff very well, and in turn, I covered for that man anytime he needed someone to take call for him. He was so good to us.

Adam-Stone mentioned above that the Fuse might be closed Thanksgiving day. Why not for the following reasons.

Al is the GM for the Fuse and would probably rather eat at home with Irma and the boys.

TJ runs the Kafe Kablooie and probably would rather have dinner with friends (Brad, Toni, the DeGroots, et al).

I don’t see the DeGroots being there unless they plan on having a private “family type dinner” there for family, friends and staff.

Of course, G&K may think differently and contrive some ridiculous situation that would require the Fuse being kept open on that day, other than Tiffany telling her dad that she needs to work that day and Les telling Uncle Al he has to work at the Fuse managed by his Uncle (while Uncle Al has another T-day meal at home).

Vote for what the meeting is about 1. Fuse will be closed 2. Fuse will be opened 3. Something else

Fuse for sale? Ann new owner? Boo-hiss!!

It’s only Monday. Things will change in the next two days.

Ann’s other plan is to be at her brothers house with her son and sister in law. AKA Gunthers Mom.

I don’t know what’s going to happen. All I know is it can’t be good.

Very intriguing set up this week. I like the pick-up of the Staff meeting by Anyface earlier this morning. I did not notice it, but there are always commentators who are really good on picking up visual cues/clues. I think it’s safe to assume that Uncle Al and Irma’s Thanksgiving will go forward, no matter what, but the rest is murky at the moment. Of course I hope some good will come out for Tiffany in particular, but it remains to be seen.

Yeah, something’s up, but I don’t think Tiffany will have to work on TK day – the Fuse most likely is closed that day – it’s not a Thanksgiving type restaurant. And – knowing Tiffany, if that were the case she would just quit before she’d miss her dad/dinner, or sweet talk some dufus into working for her.

Does somebody else feel ominous vibrations?

Ann has other plans … I wonder if she will surprise her son and spend the Thanksgiving dinner with her brother’s new family. If this is the plan, poor Les (and all the others). Or did Tiffany’s father just lie to her daughter because, knowing Ann present, Tiffany would have avoided the dinner?

I usually don’t mind the arc interruptions, but this one makes no sense, since we just saw Les hiding a kitten while his uncle and his wife were hunting for it.

Who will throw the first monkey wrench into this happy scene? By the way, Tiff is looking very good again………for the moment.

Everyone is enjoying life on the Thanksgiving Day weekend, and I’ve gotta work for two days in a row.

Luann parents would not Hire Ann. Nor would they do things on such short notice

Seems like Ann is invited to Irma’s TG dinner. When Irma finds out about Tom – she will insist that Tom and Tiffany join them. I have been looking forward to this dinner for years. The new twist is that Gunther will bring Bets. We will see some poisonous live theater – with Irma oblivious to all the barbs.

Gunther would have had to endure Les bringing Tiffany as his date. Bets would wonder what’s the problem?

I hate to sound like Debbie Downer, but I just don’t see anything good coming out of this.

Prediction:Anne rents out the Fuse for a scheme on T-day, they will find out BUT Anne will get away with it IF she leaves Tiff’s Dad BUT she cleans out his accounts.

I think everybody’s off about the meeting. I think it’s nothing, and the point here is Tiff’s look in the last panel. She’s saying she has PLANS! I’m hoping a plot is afoot.

Le Petit Chateau is in Los Angeles (North Hollywood). We saw the exterior when Brad & Toni went there – same exterior. So guess what? I went there with a friend on the Sunday following Thanksgiving and they were closed for the entire four day holiday. That could leave us with the fabled Dinner at Irma’s that includes Irma, Al, Les, Tiffany, Tom, Ann, Gunther – with Bets added. Bring Pepto Bismol.

The perfect Traditional Dad/Daughter Thanksgiving Dinner would be for Tom and Tiffany to show up at a restaurant and see Awful Annie snogging with some boy toy!

Take your pick: A) Slim. B) None. C) All of the above.

I don’t think anyone picked up on the fact that Awful Annie even allowed Tom to schedule a one on one between Tom and Tiff!

I don’t think Tiffany’s dad thinks much about Tiffany, now or ever. He’s as selfish as Tiffany is/was. For now he’s too wrapped up in Ann. I doubt if he would lower himself to eat at the Fuse. I agree that Tiffany will end up having to work, for one thing she’s probably lowest in seniority. I can see Gunther’s mom having her for a late Thanksgiving however. Unfortunately I can see Ann having a nasty plan going on. Missing Thanksgiving with Tiffany’s dad, no way otherwise, she wants to be the perfect girlfriend.

True … the ‘Staff Meeting Today’ sign bodes well NOT! …

A question, though … While Tom and Ann have obviously hooked up, I don’t think they’ve officially married yet, right? … Well, maybe Tom spills some big news on Tiffany over a ‘happy’ family dinner?! …

“Guess what, Sweetie! Ann and I are getting MARRIED!!”

It is odd that Ann would not spend T-Day with Tom. Maybe she has court appointed community service and has to help feed the homeless.

Why does something tell me that Ann somehow will end up going to Le Petit Chateau? (Which means “The little house” in French)

when things seem to be going Oh So Well, I’m sure things are about to go Oh So Wrong; Oh but what, “Anne has other plans”? And what might THOSE plans be?

When it comes to Tiffany, let’s not forget Greg’s track record with her. One of two things will happen to make Tiffany depressed.

1. Nasty Ann will show up and ruin Tiffany’s day with her already crappy dad.

2. Tiffany will end up at the Gray residence where Greg’ll pair her up with nasty Les. And no, a little kitty named Punk hasn’t drastically changed him. Lying about the cat’s whereabouts easily demonstrates that.

3. All of the above. Her T Day meal with Dad goes south and Greg puts her right into Les’s arms.

Mordrock, got any of those barf bags left? I feel something’s coming up.

There is so much potential. I wonder how many weeks Thanksgiving will last.

But I see Ann having T’giving with Les at the Gray’s.

Where I work, we work several holidays through the year (not Thanksgiving or the day after though) and then we “take them off” between Christmas and New Years, so we always have that week off. I don’t mind that we don’t get three day weekends during the year as I would rather have the week off after Christmas.:)

I don’t know about anyone else, but another week of kittens might have been better than what appears to be on the horizon.

It’s either an accident waiting to happen or a train wreck by the end of the week. We all know that this is too good a scenario for Ann not to show up. And we all know that this is precisely what she’s good at: Tom promises to meet with Tiffany, but Ann is always in tow, intent on making Tiffany kow-tow.

And I’m pretty sure that, when Tiffany becomes the strong, independent woman that most of us are rooting for, Ann will be first in line to claim credit for having ended Tiffany’s spendthrift ways.

As Dog likes to point out, G&K don’t do apologies or restitution that well.

Hmmm. Chewing a bit on the stem of my pipe while thinking….

I am anticipating that, since Tiffany has been the recipient of so much bad news and bad luck, and bad misfortune, and bad….. damn near everything…… that this week will not be an exception to the rule.

My suspicion is that ’ole Tom “Cat” Ferrell- “Dad extraordinare” ( sputter, cough ), will have dinner alone with Tiffany….. BUT:

1. I bet there is at least an 80% chance he is going to tell Tiffany that he and Ann are engaged (or were recently, secretly married) or some such thing.

and….

2. Just to rub salt into her wounds, “Dear ’ole Dad” ( harrumph ) will probably request Tiffany’s help in picking out just the right, super expensive, multi-karat diamond wedding ring.

Everyone… Let us pray…

She’ll SO end up at Gunther’s. Or working.

To announce that Annie Awful has just Bought the place so she can be “Closer” to Tiff.

Schedule in the first panel….shows “everybody” working on one day. Ann’s special event on T day? any opinions?

“Le Petit Chateau” could be Al and Irma’s and then one of my Great T-Day options (passim above) could come true.

“Ann has other plans”? That’s an interesting development.

Do your plans involve the apron and nothing else?

Ann’s other plans are to stay away until Tom has the chance to give Tiff the news in private.

Alas, poor Tiffany! I foresee nothing but a dad-daughter disaster….

And at the last minute Ann will cancel her plans and Tiff will end up at Gunther’s.

No matter what is coming down the pike, the second panel is the sweetest picture of Tiffany I have ever seen!!! She’s positively EXUDING happiness!!!

My main concern is that while Tom distracts his daughter, Ann’s other plans include stripping Tiffany’s dorm suite so she will have to move to a smaller, cheaper room with a couple of roommates. This could truly throw Tiff around the bend.

Now watch… Anne’s plans will be her spending time looking at Wedding gowns and Tiff’s father is going to announce that he proposed to Anne..

You know, Tiff and Luann might despise each other but it would be nice to see those two become friends.
