That was an honest mistake, brad walked into the room to see toni standing on a step ladder. He didn’t know if she was going up or down the ladder, he was just trying to be helpful.
Clearly Toni knew what was happening (since she’d just changed the bulb). Rather than a “Too late, Hon’, I already changed it,” she thought it would be more amusing to let Brad show off his manly skills. She was right.
I love the way Toni and Shannon watch the whole scene staying mute and then reveal everything to Brad. Aunt and niece are so in tune♡. A beautiful family ♡♡♡.
I just really hate the Shannon character. The way she is drawn, the way they have her speak. She is just really really annoying. And when is Brad going to quit being a round moon face geek? Seems like they could start drawing him with more maturity in his face. It was ugly when he was a teen and keeps on being ugly now.
Time to buy some LED bulbs, which will considerably reduce the need to change them (and unfortunately reduce the opportunity for “How many spouses does it take to change a light bulb?” jokes).
So Shannon continues to speak with some kind of impediment (because even six years old is old enough to get simple words correct). Why does every character act at least 3-4 years younger than their actual age (except Bernice, who tends to act like a bitter old woman)?
It’s always nice to see Brad and hottie Toni, along with the adorable brat (stated in totally positive terms, not pejorative ones) Shannon in these Sunday foible turns. Now the teasing between the husband, Brad/Frank, and the wife, Toni/Nancy, along with the child, Shannon/Luann, where the husband does something silly, but actually very sweet and loving, is in the second family set that is central to Luannverse. It of course begs lots of speculation about how Shannon will fit in the Brad and Toni family—they basically seem to be raising her—and/or the prospects for a new family member in Luannverse. But for now lets live in the Luannverse moment.
These Sunday strips are so often lame that maybe they ought to be farmed out to someone with a fresh look on life or featuring different characters. Sundays with Knute and Crystal might be fun.
I was thinking of Toni yesterday with all the comments about beautiful bodies. Now I’m not going to read this to find out, but did anyone say they don’t make light bulbs like that any more, or have I just been buying the wrong kind?
Did the Evanses write Shannon into a corner? For Brad and Toni to be permanently saddled with her is a drag. To have Jonah be a dad and require the DeGroots less seems unlikely. So we have Shannon as the “comic relief” all too frequently. I wouldn’t mind if Jonah and Shannon left the strip all together.

Dang, does Shannon live with them now, or what? Well, she’s the only one who can provide them with punchlines, it’s only fair.

Brad acts like Toni the firefighter has never been up and down a ladder safe. He must only remember time she fell and he caught her.
Kymberleigh about 4 years ago
Interesting. Brad apparently can’t tell the difference between Toni going down the ladder from her going up it.

Watch your mouth, Shannon. You’re liable to get this strip age-restricted.

So Shannon is a permanent fixture in the B&T household.
Some fans have urged GnK to have B&T formally adopt her
No need – just have her there whenever Brad or Toni are in the strip.
