perhaps Bernice is thinking of staying with Luann’s family is such a bad idea because Luann keeps intruding her private life?

I am not sure what Luann’s all-black outfit is supposed to represent here as she talks to Bernice about her {blank} dreams.

Now when Bernice gets thru denying and being being predictably indignant, she may want to sit back, relax, listen, and above all let Luann help her here. I mean, seeing how Luann has a fairly good track record of “match-making” others up.

Too bad she has such lousy luck, herself.

Note the use of “frisky” when introducing her encounter with Jack. I think she’s “seeding” Bernice’s dream fantasies. 8^ )

All these remarks about Luann wearing black but nary a comment about Bernice wearing basic blue, tsk tsk tsk. You all dissappoint me.

Bernice must having some amazing dreams. Very amazing.

Such an annoying person, with her aha’s and pointing finger. She accuses her friend of having dreams and gets so much enjoyment from it. In fact Luann always seems to be her most animated when she is catching (or thinks she is catching) someone doing something private. What a meddler. Bernice should buy her a “Get A Life” tshirt.

Maybe if Luann minded her own business as much as Bernice’s, she’d have a boyfriend.

BUSTED! FINALLY!!! Luann is really great at asking trick questions. They are really like sisters ♡♡♡. I can’t wait to see what Luann will try to do for get Bernice and Jack together.

This story arc is as faithful to how I anticipated it to be as has any I’ve followed over the years in Luann. It is about sexual maturity, development of desire, and the effect that has on the subject, Bernice, as mediated through her friend, the title character Luann. Whether Jack is merely a plot device, or will be a willing romantic partner with Bernice, or even surprise, Luann, or none remains to be seen IMHO. But what I have been saying as a way to approach sexual maturity and more adult relationships is clear to me in this arc. Plus hilarity ensues!

Luann, why are you being a jerk?

Even Puddles is getting annoyed by Luann’s obnoxious behavior.

And it does look like Luann is playing cupid for Bernice and Jack. (Take that, all you Luann and Jack “shippers”)

Nevertheless, this arc, already in overtime, looks far from over.

Can’t call it “sudden death” – was this arc ever alive to begin with?

Hah, I do like how Luann slyly gets Bernice to state that she has had romantic dreams about Jack. Very clever method that was fun to see.

Bernice is visibly frustrated and aggravated…. IMO…. not so much AT Luann…. but at herself because she is not one to enjoy feeling that there are some things out of her ability to control. She is interested in Jack, but she does not know if he is interested in her in that same way… and the nebulous ambiguity of the situation (plus realizing she inadvertently revealed she has a crush on him to Luann) has her a bit on edge.

An aside…. to me, the drawing style of the lateral view (side view) of Luann seems a bit different than usual. The way her teeth are drawn in the last panel looks (to me) especially atypical. I wonder if Greg is a) experimenting a bit with new drawing styles, b) potentially using some new drawing tools, c) is having a collaborator draw a bit of Luann in today’s panels, or d) something else/none of the above.

Well, Bernice was happy before Luann wagged her “fickle finger of fate” in her face. Can’t leave it alone, can you Luann? I’ve been supportive of Luann’s prodding Bern to see her family, and in her friendly teasing, but she should ease up when she sees her friend is so sensitive about this. :-o

Lots of readers get on Luann for not exercising. I never got the impression from G&K she’s any bit of a glutton. Remember the pile of Pizza boxes that gave Tiffany her present “body positive” look? That being said, back to Bernice & Jack. I like it. Why? They are show as young & single adults. So what if they work different professions? My wife is a former musician and I worked for the DoD and on weapon systems. She still does things in music. I still shoot. There is some overlap in professional interests but generally not.

Luann is much more pleasant than Bernice. Luann is kidding around with her friend, nothing mean. I’m just glad we have not seen Gunther in a long time. Don’t miss him at all.

Those two would make a good couple! Jack and Bernice. Has a nice ring to it! (snicker)

It represents a black sweater. Often worn on colder days. Actually found in many colors. I like black. And it is not necessarily goth.

I like that Puddles is fond of Bernice. I like the comfy pet scene on display w/ Puddles and Monstro; Monstro’s tank looks cleans but it still needs some furniture (e.g. fake plants, some gravel and a castle to hide in). Can’t tell where this arc is going; just hoping that Bern will get a date ( at some point) w/ Jack.

But, tonight, they start up again.

Monstro’s bare fishtank is very sad, and unlikely. Even fishbowls have gravel in them. I like Luann in all black, very chic and surprising. I was hoping for a Jack and Luann relationship, but Luann is having too much fun teasing Bern about him. Not even an iota territorial. Bern and Jack? She’d weigh him down with her bookbag of neuroses, control issues (RA stint), and fuddy-duddyness.

I enjoyed the fish people dreams.

My friend asked me if the original movie Carrie gave me nightmares, couldn’t understand how they hadn’t until I explained I hadn’t been able to sleep since seeing it.

Luann’s attire reminds of that old TV show “Honey West” when she’d dress as a cat burglar… ahhh Anne Francis…
