I hope they keep showing us the classic Luann, I am really enjoying their old look!

Comics are an enjoyable pastime, and I usually start my day with a cup of tea (I am retired, 74 years old) reading Luann and the lottery results (never win anything big) but I keep praying. I know Gregg and Karen deserve time off. I feel guilty complaining about such a trivial thing, but I just don’t care for this oldies thing. If I wanted oldies, I would access Luann Again. If this is setting up something, we will just have to wait it out to see what happens.

What in the world happened to the art work? Did Gregg die?

Bernice and Nil navigating Valentine’s Day would have been much more fun.

This flashback arc set reveals so much about Luann’s frustration with boys she’s liked over the years, and Gunther’s inability to respond or lack of interest in romance way back assumedly in the frosh/soph period in high school; I know that many here thought Gunther (he’s Gun[ther] now since he really has a hot gf) would and should be a great romantic interest for Luann. I never thought so when I first saw these arcs years ago, nor did I ever think he would be one. He was not ready to relate to any female that way, the female had to be aggressive enough to overcome the, for want of a better term, the Asperger like syndrome his character was drawn with, and on the part of Luann her hopeless and unrealistic romanticism. He’s way past that now with Bets, and I sincerely hope GnK (mostly K) find a way to get her to success in romance while keeping the basic zeitgeist of the name character intact. Have they painted and drawn themselves in a corner with Lu?

What’s Bernice doing for St. Valentine’s Day? Tiffany, Toni or Toni for that matter?

When I was in elementary school, each kid in the class gave a cheap valentine to each of the other kids in the class. IIRC, parents could buy a plastic bag with a bunch of the valentines.

After 2 weeks, when I finally got over the girl who dumped me in high school, she still expected me to fawn over her. She told me that she loved me, but only as a friend. I accepted it, and she could not understand that I had accepted it.

It’s a good thing she cut the hearts off!

Why have these comics been throwbacks this week? That is NOT the Gunther we know, and the Brad that has been on this week is NOT the Brad we know!!

Luann Againn is pretty interesting this week—also involves lockers and written communications (a note Luann wrote to Aaron.) Also, lately I’ve been glancing at Luann en Espanol just to see if I can understand any of it (answer is usually not much.) So far they’ve been arcs from early in the college years and it helps if I remember them, but this week is one I must have missed. It involves Prof. Zebo having an art show for the first class of his that Luann, Jack and Nil took together. Everyone Luann knows seems to attend: Brad and Toni, her parents, Quill, Bernice, Dez, and Knute and Crystal. Does anyone know when that’s from? I’d like to read it in English since I know I’m missing stuff.

Luann, Gunther has moved on. So should you.

is this also related to the fact that Luann still liked Gunther after they had all gone to college? Recall she went over to his place to explore those feelings (on advice from Pru). Instead Luann ended up encouraging him to explore online dating which brought Bets. If Luann still has the hots for Gunther it’s too late now.
