Great idea.. use up all your good will with your folks and call in all your favors to help Jonah take a month off. So worth it!

I recall Toni couldn’t wait for Jonah to come pick Shannon up, last time they watched her. Man this is going to be fun ! ;)

Nancy needs to tell Shannon the bedrooms are off limit. She stays in the living room or backyard. It’s not her house and if she learns to respect things that don’t belong to her, Nancy would be open to watching her. Toni needs to teach her that. Children tend to prefer touching things that aren’t theirs as if they’re something new they just gotta test or try. Bed is a bed is foreign concept for children.

The way that works is if Nancy lays down some ground rules, and puts someone she can trust in charge of Shannon.

Toni is way out of line on this one. She expects Brad to inconvenience his parents so that her brother can dump on someone else. Frank and Nancy are entitled to a life. And, don’t give me that “but it’s family” excuse. It will only get worse.

Parent practice with a sometimes out of control youngster.

Should build a lot of character in all of them. TJ is like a big kid. Brad’s folks will be reluctant at first, but they will help knowing Shannon needs more stability.

    Shannon “broke” the DeGroots Bed?!!?

You have any idea how much new beds cost these days?

And did Jonah offer to PAY the DeGroots for a new replacement bed?

    No, of course NOT.

All of a sudden I’m longing for Jay Fosgitt’s “Perfect Shannon.” ;-)

I didn’t expect there would be any problems with Nancy and Frank. This strengthens my hypothesis that Toni and Jonah’s weird aunt will be contacted, even though it’s already clear that Toni doesn’t think she’s reliable. Or Luann will have to sacrifice her free time babysitting Shannon at their house.

I can understand Toni wanting to help her brother, but common sense has to enter here sometime. It seems, at some point, Jonah should be here discussing the situation with them. While they may enjoy babysitting and have good intentions, putting others out is different. Frank also works? And Nancy takes care of the Fuse’s books. Parents make sacrifices for their kids, Jonah hasn’t and it doesn’t seem he will in the future. I find it sad and him selfish.

Bwad, Toni, wake up. Click on “Go Comics” and click back to the string of strips from about a week or ten days ago where your sister, LUANN (who worked in childcare) and BERNICE (who loves to practice her psych skills) are totally entertaining Shannonstein. Then you can finish off the week by offering to pay them out of your fat double salary. You could also dump TJ, but that’s another story.

I have to be honest: I’ve always been under the impression that Jonah had a habit of occasionally leaving Shannon with Brad and Toni for weeks at a time as it was. Perhaps that just because of “comic strip” time but it always seemed like she was there for long stretches before this.

Did Jonah do something responsible in his personal life for a change, and, at least offer to pay for the bed Shannon broke. Did Jonah reinforce the punishment both sets of DeGroots gave Shannon for that?If so, then Frank, and, Nancy, would help with Shannon. (After all, Shannon is the closest thing to a grnadchild for them.) Bernice, and, Luann will be even tougher sells.

She is being remembered as Olive Oyl in the 1980 live-action “Popeye” movie with the late Robin Williams.

Shelley Duvall has passed away at the age of 75.

She will be missed tremendously. R. I. P.

They are seriously flogging the mule with this Shannon/Jonah story. Geez, move on already, we all get it. Jonah is a flake, Shannon is a brat, Toni is an enabler, Brad is a wimp. They started it weeks ago, let a horrible guest cartoonist play with it for two full weeks, and now we’re right back to it for who knows how long. I appreciate Greg’s great artwork, but their storylines have a tendency to get tedious, redundant and boring, like this one has. Just wrap it up and move along!
