    The other viewpoint:

My father took an advanced forestry class at Yale (from which he did get a degree) in which the final was a single question of the form “Is it true that if (a really long list of conditions) a broad but specific outcome?” He thought it over for awhile and then turned in his blue book with his answer: “Yes”.

He got, he said, the only ‘A’ in the class.

Well, severely breaking the law by systematically terrorising and even trying to murder supreme court justices seems to be perfectly acceptable to the government, as they are doing nothing to stop it, and people like Chuck Schumer have even directly encouraged it.

Considering the escapades Danae can get into, I’m surprised Lucy even thought “let’s go do something.”

Boy, the right wing trolls are so funny they can’t stand it. Too bad they can’t actually defend their insanity.

New theory: The right wing lunatics think science is a tissue of lies they only had to memorize long enough to pass the exam to graduate from high school. Or not bother. Then they ignore their hypocrisy every time they go to the doctor or use a smartphone that depends on science.

So how much longer can the scientists keep America afloat in the ocean of stupidity?

Zero$0.99 fails again. The person, who BTW turned himself in, was not a lib, but indeed a Reich winger delusional gun nut who was convinced that Kavanaugh was going to rule in favor of tighter gun controls. But the the Turd Reich will twist, lie, deflect, and distract as per Goebbels propaganda tactics, and always try to blame the other side to distract from what the Reich wing is doing.

On the other hand they’re planning to hold in August the Banned Gun Giveaway of one of the same rifles that the Uvalde shooter used and throw in 1,000 free rounds. Talk about a slap in the face of the dead and their families. But then they’ve always put bullets and bucks before children. Like when the Turd Reich obstructed money for school lunch programs because hungry kids, don’t matter now, do they? Heartless, soulless bastards.

Miller, you are revealing your true apparatchik Self. Anyone who disagrees with your goals, must be a liar.

Just disgusting. A propagandist and a liar with no insight into his own lies. You are gaslighting yourself and everyone else.

Well, that is indeed an illuminating game. I suppose it’s true that, if you are allowed to use enough words to say no without actually saying “no”, then you haven’t really lied. I seem to remember that sort of nonsense getting shot down fast on Perry Mason.

You’ll forgive me (or maybe not) for not having too much sympathy for kavanaugh. First of all, I think it’s a sign of a very sick society when threatening with bodily harm anyone who disagrees with you. OTH, kavanaugh lied during his hearing, threw a temper tantrum worthy of his mentor dt, and struts around like an avenging. . .I also absolutely LUV the hypocrisy of Congress members who call immediately for action on behalf of government officials, but send only “thoughts and prayers” to parents of dead school children. As a culture, we’re the pits.

Two different things. The game is played for politicians trying to get elected and have to avoid hard issues. But judges get appointed and have to write everything down

Yes, like when Justice Kagan said at her confirmation that legalizing gay marriage should be left to the legislative branch of government as it would be outside the Supreme Court’s role.

While I’m glad that the murder attempt on Judge Kavanaugh was thwarted when the suspect turned himself into authorities and no one was hurt, I hope this situation gives Kavanaugh some modicum of understanding of what he put Dr. Christine Blasey Ford through to which I’m not holding my breath. On another point, it would tie in with the theme Wiley has been telling this week.

That only works if you are trying to get a Federalist Society recommendation. Does not work for any other nominations for the Supreme Court.

We’re very sorry to hear about Brett Kavanaugh’s current troubles. We offer our thoughts and prayers for the entire Kavanaugh family during this difficult period. Now is not the right time to have a policy debate, so let’s not politicize the issue.
