Rat’s going a bit overboard. ALL people should be approached only carefully until they’re at least partly caffeinated. Preferably with a cuppa held out toward them and a non-threatening look on your face…

Mornings are when I’m glad I live alone.

What’s a morning? I retired in 1995 and usually get up around 1-3 PM.

I am up now at 1:45AM, cheerful, but no one awake to be cheerful too! (I will try again later)!

I don’t get up early enough to meet non-morning people.

Is it a bad thing to completely see eye to eye with Rat on something? Asking for a friend.

“Good” and “Morning” are contradictory terms!!!

I agree Pig. It’s not easy being the chirpy morning person in a house full of crabby night owls!

Rat is not a morning person or an afternoon person or a night person. He’s not even a person at all.

It sounds like Pig learned a valuable lesson. There will be days when Rat won’t be wanting to be so nice.

I love the quiet and solitude of early morning. The animals are music to me as they munch and shuffle. That soft, more visible than heard nicker from my pheetyhorse greets me and sets the mood for the day : )

The greatest sin of morning people, is insisting everyone else ought to be like them.

No! It’s the other way around. Morning people (like me) like to get up to sunshine. Now with Daylight Savings I am getting up to more than hour of darkness. I prefer Standard time.

Overly cheerful greetings in the work place are particularly annoying

As a non-morning person, I can agree. Do not approach me before 6 AM, or before I have read the comics, whichever comes first.

It’s 9:45 EDT and most of these I-hate-morning comments were written two hours ago. I smell a Rat.

I am a fairly early riser but prefer not to socialize until I am properly caffeinated.

My wife is one of those up-and-at-em types who attack the day with energy and enthusiasm. She has learned that while I listen, I don’t respond other than in grunts and react slowly until the first cup of strong black tea or coffee has done its magic.

While she charges into her morning, I prefer the gradually ease my way into the day.

I am also a morning person, I have been told repeatedly that I am disgustingly cheery in the morning, to go away for at least an hour, preferably two, and when I do come back I best have coffee!

A new morning dawns every day of the week. / So when I wake up, bleary and bleak, / Heed this word to wise, / When I finally arise, / Give me my coffee, and then you may speak.

Releasing the CRACKIN BEFORE ITS TIME WILL GET THESE RESULTS!

Its proper spelling is “mourning.” It’s a time to wear black and grieve over lost sleep.

This is why people eat bacon in the morning; one fewer cheery idiot to deal with.

The most casual observer would wait to see their coffee addiction satiated.

That’s about as nice as Rat gets.

And not just in the mornings, either!

Not sure if that was a nice thing or an extremely mean thing, Rat. I mean, sure Pig will think it’s nice you didn’t hit him. But what about everyone else he’ll be annoying with that greeting?
