Is what we have here a failure to communicate due to faulty equipment, or is Puck padding his resume? Are they playing a Clue? Why did Goldie write MASH at the top of her paper? I think I also see Sophie and Burt written on her legal pad.

Puck and Goldie are so adorable together, they’re like best friends having a sleep over … All they need is some junk food and a stack Fancy Feline Fashion magazines!

I vaguely remember playing MASH as a kid – or should I say, being roped into playing MASH as a kid, which is why I don’t remember the rules, just its existence. It’s something between a fortune-telling game and an invent-your-own-biography game. You’d only play it with someone you liked, so Puck and Goldie are getting along famously!

I don’t know this “Mash”, but it looks something like Roger Price’s “Mad Libs”:

Either that, or those upper respiratory drugs have really kicked in!

I see “Elvis”, “Tommy”, and “Burt” on Puck’s piece of paper, as well as “Texas”, “Canada”, and “Idaho”. I can’t read the careers options.

Goldie’s paper has “Sophie”, “Agnes”, and “Burt”; “doctor”, “mayor”, and “poet”; and “Egypt”, “Maine” (possibly), and “England”.

As for the numbers, it looks like Goldie puts a strikethrough on her 7’s (does anyone else think of that as a British 7?) and Puck does not.

I surmise that one puts down words and the next person (or cat), makes up a story or scenario with those words. Am I right?

I love that game! Still play it now and then. (cheeky giggles) But Puck… I’m surprised and intrigued because didn’t you once complain, and I quote, “I’m a boy. Don’t they know I’m a boy?” :D

I see Lupin has his mask back on.

Germs can sneak under the door. Puck is doomed.

Oh no, the dreaded “No No Spray Bottle”! the boys have been so good that we haven’t seen it in quite some time.

Random food woman gave Lupin and Elvis a car wash because they were dancing the, Tango!

I had to laugh at the spray bottle. Our Molly (rip) was a counter cat. While hubs is okay with cats, he can’t stand them on the counter so he would spray her whenever he caught her there. The only thing it taught her was to not get on the counter when he was home. They’re so smart!

Even tho I have never heard of the game they are playing, the whole strip is still delightful. Puck and Goldie are so adorable playing a game through the door, so sweet. And Goldie obviously got a good nights sleep and is feeling much better.

They’re fighting because the presence of a stranger has triggered their territorial instincts and they’re redirecting the defensive reaction to each other.

I never heard of MASH, and I just learned something new.

I had forgotten all about MASH! We used to play in elementary school. I love the tin can telephone and especially the string between the panels. It’s the details that make this comic so charming.

Today’s strip demonstrates that black cats are pure-hearted.

Why are they fighting?? Woman can you not see Lupin’s facial mask and thus deduce his fear of catching whatever deadly disease this INTRUDER has brought in with her?

It looks as if the string for the string telephone is not going under the door, but breaking the third wall to pass through our world and go between rooms in their’s.

Although it’s not going to work with the string slack like that.

I’ve never heard of the MASH game, but when I was a child, we made phones out of tin cans and string. Oh, lordie, I’m old.

I’m amazed how many people have never heard of MASH. It’s very novel for me to be one of the people who get a cultural reference. Normally I’m the baffled one while everyone else is reminiscing about something that was seemingly everywhere while I remained oblivious.

This is the start of a wonderful friendship.

Is Puck really Mom Cat?

Meanwhile, by Puck’s paper, it looks like Goldie will live in a shack in Canada and have 7 kittens with Elvis! Can’t read the “occupation” section.

Did you notice that Puck’s little “OMC!” comes from both him (other side of the door) and Goldie’s tin can?

I get happy just seeing Puck’s joyous enthusiasm.

I don’t know this game. That folded paper finger thing, yeah. But that was sixty years ago.On another topic, I am finally getting another kitty. Yea! A foster that isn’t getting along with her existing cats. Had cats & dogs all my life but move in the last 2 years from n. California to n. Jersey. (grew up in s. Jersey) I was temporarily kitty-less these last two years and I missed them. I needed to get permission here in my apt building and a note for support animal from VA. So now ordering all new “gear”. Thank Cat for foster parents.

proofread Linda, duh. Believe it or not, I CAN spell & speak correctly. blame it on autocorrect. grin BTW, I didn’t leave any cats/pets behind in the move. They had passed away & I held off on getting more till now. I would never do that. Shipped my dog & cat back from Spain when my tour was up & flew another cat from NH to California when I moved out there. That was a trip… literally!
