I see that the Boy has Pengo, and Puck has Buzzy Mouse. I wonder if Elvis sleeps with his CN microphone.

Another sweet twist to the story, the boy having a bad dream and all trying to comfort him. And Lupin marching off to confront Dr Bear…..Be afraid, Dr Bear ! Be very afraid!

The Man forgot to take off his glasses – or was he still watching TV when the Boy came for help? The Boy will be fine now, but if Lupin finds Dr, Bear, there will be trouble!

My two cats have been sensing that I have been having a very rough time lately. During the day… Luna Tic has be following me and sitting at my feet. At night… Spider-Cat has been snuggling up to my side. Just a little while ago… they heard my neighbors. They are having a somewhat quiet party in their backyard. The cats are now tag-teaming to see if they try to disturb our backyard. Fierce little protectors! I love them so!

Lupin looks like Jo Don Baker or the Rock from Walking Tall, all he needs is a big stick and he is ready to dispatch the mean Dr Bear!

Lupin seldom looks that unhappy; I really feel for him, too. Nothing makes me grumpier than being awakened after too little sleep. (I’m ashamed to say I was less than enthusiastic when I was told of my nephew’s arrival at 2 AM. It’s been decades since then, and I think my sister has forgiven me….)

I wish I could go back to the time when my mother’s arms really could protect me from the worst the world had to offer.

National Mustard Day. Who’s bringing the sausages and corned beef? Now it’s meat and fat. I suppose that’s better than just carbs. Does mustard count as a vegetable?

Jamaican Patty Day. Basically a pasty or turnover filled with seasoned meat. Another opportunity for mustard—and carbs, and protein, and more fat. Yes, we’re doomed, just as Robin told us.

Women Astronomers Day. Don’t you dare call them spacey. Night owls, yes. “She’s an astronomer an’ she’s okay. She works all night and sleeps all day!” Actually not true. Astronomers only work at night when they can get time on a telescope.

And finally, Rounds Resounding Day. So let’s celebrate Lughnasadh and Lammas with a feast of Jamaican Patties with Mustard, sausage, corned beef, Homemade Raspberry Pie, and a Mead toast to Women Astronomers, followed by rousing, roaring, resounding rounds of ribald rhymes.

Action, immediate action, is Lupin’s hammer.

It just occurred to me to wonder if the Boy is as afraid of the doctor – the stabby place, especially when you’re a kid! – as the cats are of the Dreaded V.E.T. That would make Doctor Bear a very scary dream indeed!
